I may not be a pilot but commercial aviation is my biggest interest and in addition to being a relatively regular traveller (around 100,000 miles per year over the last few years) I have flown light aircraft enough to go solo.
I was well aware of the other incidents involving water landings but find providing a link to something someone else can read more effective at summing up my points, or getting actual figures.

what was strange was that every single news station was on the story within seconds and would not cover anything else. i guess they wanted to make sure everybody was reminded of the other plane crashes that happened which perfectly coincided with a new osama tape.
