I just dont get the selection process, do they put idiots that dont know how to cook or have ever been on line on the show for entertainment value?

I honestly think that they take that into consideration. This time the selection process seemed to have a bit more to do with just applying though, as they showed the "competition" they had at the beginning where they selected from 1000 chefs.

However, I don't know how they selected people before, and I wonder if they did that all along and are just showing it now b/c people are starting to doubt how they select the idiots.
