Okay, it's time for me to find out what I would actually do in a year without Internet. And also without any TV or DVDs, since I don't want to simply replace my Internet time with those. I'm not sure what the heck I'm going to fill the time with, but this year will certainly be a bit different than the last few.
I'll see you guys next at 2:46 PM Central U.S. time on March 23, 2010. Good luck to everyone in the meantime.
["Yeah, right," you might be saying. "He'll be back within a week or two."]
Well, maybe. Time will tell I suppose. Regardless, see you later. |
Even if you do "succeed", what is it you hope to gain? I went for years without having a television. Under a year ago, I'd been without internet as well for about 9 months. Now I have both, and I rarely even turn on the fucking TV - I don't believe it's even plugged in at this moment. During the prior time, I dated more, got out, wrote, drew, exercised, etc. All of those things that you expect to fill up your time don't really fall short of it, but I do all of those things even now while doing whatever I want with net. Achieving a balance is far more beneficial. It's foolish to deprive yourself of things that you enjoy in life. If you feel that something as lame as the internet is sapping these things away from you, then yeah, you have a problem. But cutting yourself off from them probably isn't going to help a whole tonne as it's not a strict chemical dependency. And you're probably not even reading this, you fuckhead.

What? So...JBJ left? for real? I didn't know that Lira has left TA as well. Thats why its been a long time since i last saw a philosophical/linquistic thread of some sorts Whats the story behind Lira's departure?
I bet that they both stalk the forums as we speak...
On may i'm gonna quit TA and the internet for a year as well. I'll have to go to the greek army for the 1-year national service
