and then put it on youtube just to show everybody how awesome he is

to answer the question: he fell into disflavour on the forums mostly because of his outlook on life and the scene (calling all djs ****s was pretty abrasive for most people), and his extreme cockiness etc...

the final straw for me at least was when he refused to allow marcus schossow into a gig where they shared a bill because of schossow's deadrat6 joke...

I wouldn't believe everything you read. I know and have worked with a lot of people that have worked with him and none of those rumours have ever been observed.

Don't get me wrong, he's said certain things (and I know the exact interview your talking about) that come across very badly to the public or industry but it's a case of he didn't articulate his meaning well, rather than him being a cvnt with a dislike of all other DJ's.

Combine that with the fact certain "journalists" wanted to edit what he said for their own devices and state them out of context (which you can see if you read the entire interview) and he come across like he has a problem.

If anything, I just think he's been a little stupid in his choice of words and selecting who he was talking to and what he decides to say to them.

However, there is an extreme amount of hate bullshit out there about him (demanding to know ever track the previous DJ played, the schossow thing etc.) which is being put out there by certain people because they feel he came up to quick or didn't kiss their arse.

I'm not deadmau5 fanboy or anything close, just that I can see BS when it begins to stink.

yeah for sure mate, was just answering a question asked more than anything... obviously i don't know him and can't be that judgemental, and also i think the 'djs are ****s' thing is jsutifiable to a certain extent from any producer's angle (even i get annoyed at just djs semi-frequently, and i'm just a n00b producer!)... but yeah every time i've seen interviews and shit he jsut seems like a cockhead.

like the motorbike thing: it's like bono giving a million dollars to charity: 1: you can fucking afford it! 2: if it was really because you're so nice, why the fark would we the public even know about it??

anyway yeah, obviously i don't know him, and obviously i've only seen him at certain times, so i don't really know anyway, but in the scene he's often seen as a bit of a douche..

I hear ya, and know what you mean. He has said some things in interviews that I think he knows he shouldn't have said becuase of the way they came across (which i don't reckon was his intention). I think it;s two things: I think he's learning the hard way that you have to filter what you say and there no such thing as bad press if it doesn't harm someone (i.e. child molesting or wife beating etc.).

And as for the giving the present thing, firstly just about everything he does is documented, such is the nature of our society, and secondly (having worked in high profile PR) the giving of gifts and making sure the entire fucking world knows about it is not just common place but standard....in a lot of cases the gift was only thought up SO they could talk about it....

...and guess what? people are talking about it. He did a nice thing for a friend and it got him noticed. Double win for him, whether we like it or not.

On anohter note - bono pisses me right off!!! He gives like 1 millon to charity and expects to be treated like the immaculate conception love child of ghandi and mother theresa.

The guy makes in excess of 50 million per year from back catalogue alone and $1m is what he spends on flowers for his 3rd house in a couple of months. They figured it out that guy could give half his fortune away and still buy a porsche 911 every day for the rest of his life.

But no, lets kiss his ass becuase he gave his appearance fee away to charity so motorola can sell more mobile phones

and i'm sure a lot of the stuff is run through his manager, or PR person or whatever, but at the end of the day i'm sure he controls the flow of what's released (in being able to stop something stupid coming out of his mouth at any given time, or getting his people to keep something quiet )

same as the bono thing, and you've made a big mistake by getting me started my friend, i can't fucking stand the self-righteous bastard!

i live in australia, U2 came down here last year, or the year before and bono is fucking preaching to the stadium audience to give to charity (he told them to sms a number to donate)... 1: we're not as rich as you bono, leave us the fuck alone, sure we'll donate 1% of our income into charity, it's just that that's only 10 dollars, not 1 million dollars 2: it took U2 2 747 jets to fly over their set for the show............

couldn't they have just played the fucking gig with their instruments and given the money to charity? would've surely given the charity more money than every person donating a dollar put together...

BONO

so, um... yeah... studios...

here's one of U2 in a studio
