Not the worst example but since you posted this yourself a while back:



In the main section, notice how everything in the mix "ducks" back whenever the bassdrum hits.

It's also called the "we couldn't be bothered with a proper mixdown so we just slapped a sidechain on it"-method.

A better example of overdone sidechain:



It's quite prominent in the way it totally obliterates what you hear in the main hook, creating a very muffled 'throb-throb' effect.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what happens is you connect two instrument tracks together and have one control the other.

The most common usage is having the synth muffle over a beat.

I'm pretty sure this is how it works, but I'm sure some actual producers on here can explain it better than me.

Nearly , the kick triggers the volume of an intstrument to drop rapidly then back up until the next kick drops the volume again.

not always , but usually
