shitty deal... i was talking with the captain of RG on the Hot boat. he was telling me theyre borderline losing their liquor license cuz of all the g outs hence why they have to be so ridiculously hard in their searching. plus the fact that the bottom level gets so insanely hot due to lack of air flow (perhaps put a couple industrial fans to keep things cool?), g - outs are too easy.. esp with alcohol intake. too bad things had to turn out like that. thanks g-outs

Who does G on a demi or mistress barbara cruise? I didn't realize that element of society had such a defined taste in music. Plus doesn't it cost 4 times what it used to? I assumed usage had declined.

I'd expect it on the amigos cruise and yet I didn't see a single g out for the august long weekend cruise. Go figure!

costs haven't really changed. maybe an increase of 5 to 10 dollars.

there was 1 girl g'ed at the mistress barbara cruise (i witnessed this). there was also 2 girls kicked off the demi cruise for dealing coke in the bathroom before the boat even left (i only heard about this). people have no self control and it's ruining the fun for everyone else.

it's interesting that even with all the harsh searches...people STILL got their shit on the boat...and according to the last post...in quantities large enough to deal....

It's been awhile since I've seen a proper G out, but the one on the Misstress cruise was bad - and quite early on I think.

I also saw several dudes being escorted by staff to the back of the boat - dunno if that's where people get thrown onto a water taxi or what.

There were enough aggressively fucked up people (I would assume G or coke) on the Barbara cruise that I cannot imagine what a Sunday cruise crowd looks like.

See what happens when the zone starts cleaning up? The sketchbags start going on boat cruises and to cherry beach.

Wow. This thread took a turn for the worse. I will review the music that I danced to and leave it at that.

Demi night vs. Demi Day was a musical journey that I'm glad I experienced. Two completely different sounds which went perfect for both venues. I have to say I'm leaning more towards the Footwork set, very good flow... the funkiness right into the bumpin' house. I danced a lot and loved every second of it. Little sad that the party ended so soon, felt cheated on some Demi beats... glad I got a Part 2 on the boat. The tunes on the boat were great too. Demi dropped some nice remixes, which I always enjoy hearing..."Enjoy the Silence" which set me off nicely. Started it out with nice summer sun tunes to try and get everyone smiling after the late departure. Loved the Demi boat attire!

Button's opening set at Footwork had me bouncin' from the get go. Havne't seen Jeff play in quite some time, and the lead in for Sir Demi was a great start to the weekend.

Regardless of the fact that each party were not packed as much as people would have expected, I was still happy. Had more of a "Demi Playing a Private Party" vibe to it.

Thank you Demi for coming back. Always a pleasure to hear you on the decks.

You know, everybody blames the G-monkeys for ruining everything, and I'll grant that they're not exactly fun to be around, but here's a question: When was the last time any club owner, cruise operator, promoter, anyone, actually spoke out against the use of G and instituted a zero-tolerance policy?

Anybody remember the sign at the old Boa? I don't seem to recall too many major problems there.

The best parties/hosts tend to be permissive when it comes to harmless drugs, and restrictive with vibe-killing ones. It really seems simple enough to me: ditch all of the idiotic announcements about "illegal substances" and replace them with a big sign and announcement saying that anybody caught G-ing out or otherwise causing a disruption will be forcibly ejected and sent "home" in a police boat. Stop lumping all "illegal substances" together - you don't need to, they're already illegal - and start singling out the ones you really care about.

I'm sure some of you are about to say pfft, useless, they'll find a way to bring it in and continue doing it anyway. Maybe, but I'll bet they'd be a lot more careful with it, and it isn't simply the consumption of G or any other drug in general that's so problematic, it's the careless use.

The way it is now, there are absolutely no deterrents in place for the "bad eggs." The worst thing that can happen is that they have their $5 worth of shit confiscated. In their minds, they're no worse than the people just boozing it up or popping an E.

Instead of worrying so much about letting those things on in the first place, just have good policies for handling any situations that get out of control. This is pretty much the same thing that every decent club does. Obviously they would still have to do quick searches and pat-downs, but it's sort of like locking your front door vs. having 12 deadbolts - if someone wants to get in that badly, they'll just break a window.

I'm pretty sure if you take G away from some of these people they are just going to go overboard on something else. It's not necessarily the drug of choice per se but the idiot behind the abuse. While G has much harsher consequences for abuse...I don't think being around a bunch of people all whacked out on meth would be all that fun either. The dynamic of the scene in Toronto has been taking a turn for the worse for quite some time now...I think this whole summer boat fiasco has been the icing on the cake.

There was a time where boats left early and on time and if you weren't there too bad for you. Mind you, it's a lot easier for that to happen when the boat is sold out way ahead of time. Flying in a DJ to headline a boat is a riskier proposition promo wise. Now, factor in all the other cruises happening in a given month, numbnuts who get too fucked up, our unpredictable Toronto weather this summer, higher cruise prices (compared to years ago), boats that don't leave on time and it's no surprise ppl feel they're not getting their money's worth. Promoters are at the whim of the boat/security, the boat ppl are worried about losing their liquor license/having cops board the ship (because of numbnuts), and the patrons are left wondering who to be pissed off at.

It's a sad state of affairs, but ultimately, the numbnuts are to blame.

(Yes, that's my word of the day)

Exactly!
