For all those who believe Kanye West possesses a shred of talent (and consequently is, in some way or another, original), I would like you to elaborate.
Personally, I've listened to about, say, five-six songs of his (all of them at least thrice), and absolutely nothing, when compared to other mainstream hiphop songs, strikes me as innovative. You would think, as he's this so-called talented artist (and music's messiah of sorts--by his own admission), that I, the everyday joe, would, upon hearing his music, be, considering his genius, in the least bit wowed. Whether or not I like hiphop is irrelevant, for genius, one can say, transcends (or so I've been led to believe) said boundry.
And besides: this Taylor Swift sings country pap, and I think, deep down inside, she knows this and is resolved to temper her ego and show a little humbleness. Mister West should perhaps do the same, since he produces, essentially, hiphop pap.
