Boracay is touristy also. Lost a lot of it's charm imo over the last few years.

Phi phi island.. great food, great prices.. get ur arse down here cause i've been to many beaches.. NONE HAS COME CLOSE TO THIS PLACE.

I went to Phi Phi about 9 years ago and found it to be far too full of tourists and not well looked after. Stunning scenery but just not well looked after, I hope it has changed since then. Also more of a daytrip/overnight stop than a final destination IMO.

Despite what others have said there are several nice resorts on Phuket, you don't need to go to Patong Beach or the larger towns.

Stay away from Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, etc. until Janurary-February - ish. It's their hurricane season.

Hawaii is too expensive for your budget.

Seriously look into my suggestions... you would be surprised at how beautiful those places are.

Zimbabwe? lol.

the odd thing is that people expect to find a location that is tropical, yet isn't tourist packed

just decide on a location with your wife, and go with it. research locations you'd like to visit. the rest of the time spend together with quality food.

honestly, i'd recommend an area that is rich with quality food, such as thailand. therefore, you can enjoy both food and common tourist attractions. the secluded areas you'll have to research yourself, no travel agency will give you an underground honeymoon location devoid of any tourists

when it comes to honeymoons, make it memorable. maybe you'll have to spend the extra cash but make it worthwhile if you do

come to hollywood, florida! it's just north of miami but it's way more quiet/quaint than the rat race in miami it's more of a locals hidden gem type of place. plenty of bars/cafes within walking distance of the hotel, parasailing, $50 all day snorkel trips out on a boat, etc...

i'll give you a good rate on one of the units in the hotel i work at.

here's a view from the 2nd floor (taken with my phone)

lol

Just as dangerous as Fiji, Greece, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Turkey (among many others) according to the Canadian Foreign Affairs and International Trade website.

It isn't much more dangerous than any of the other places suggested, and it's an incredibly beautiful place. Definitely a unique place to visit.
