Now for you.

Wow! Some of you people have waaaay too much time on your hands. I am baffled that me bumping my own post has caused 6 pages worth of bickering. Fucking ridiculous! I admit, I broke your gay little forum rules, I apologize. I only bumped the thread once. I was really just posting additional information about "U-Night 2." As a matter of fact I was planning on posting a link to my event on wanttickets.com, but you guys got crazy and locked the thread. |
First of all this thread has been open for over a week & since now that your thread has been closed you have taken the time to read the forum a little bit & you happened to stumble upon this thread or someone mentioned it to u that this thread has to do about promoters abusing the forum. This remark "I broke your gay little forum rules" doesn't realy say much about your character & will not get much sympathy from me regardless of you apologizing at the end of the remark. For the record you did bump it 4 times no actually you were a smart ass & said 'Here's number 5" & BTW No one else but ME "got crazy and locked the thread" as you so eloquently put it. I do have waaaay to much time on my hands as well but I was asked Moderate this section & I find time to do so.

Plain and simple, the reason why I use forums is to promote events and mix sets. Other people come on for other reasons. I am on several forum sites (THM-DJs.com, 8up.com, Nohaters, FunkTheNation, Ravelinks...) and have NEVER had a problem posting my events and/or bumping my own events. I'm sorry, but I have a real career and use my extra time to promote my passion, EDM. I simply do not have time to post on every site. |
Funny you should mention 8up.com. That website is mainly for party promoting. That site is great for promoting parties but I did a little research & came across that on 8up you do interact with members & others but here on TA you interacted at 1st or when u were an active member... then you only used this forum for promotional purposes. If thats the case then use the Events thread as I stated before & be done with it. If you claim the reason u "use forums is to promote events and mix sets" then keep your events in there & only there. Like u said "Plain and simple."

I have been using this site since 2005 which I know is longer than most people. Am I still a noob? I know I've posted several mixes, advertised for radios shows, and obviously have posted events that I am involved in over the last 4 years. Is that really a crime? Treason? Is that a sick joke? Do you even know what treason is?....give me a fucking break! |
If its been that that you've been on here then you would know that this topic has come up several times throughout the time you've been a memeber. Since you really don't read the board you prob wouldn't noticed the threads about this topic.

Furthermore, I do not organize/promote/DJ parties to make money. I simply do it for the love of the music. It seems that because the flyers I post don't have what you consider worthy artists you call it spam. That's BS! Was the Crazy Larry or Grumptronix shows spam? We are looking into booking Konrad Black and/or Loco Dice in the near future...Will that be spam? Did you read the U-Night 2 flyer? There are several djs signed to record labels (i.e. Hallucination, System Recordings, Abstract Logic Recordings, Knob, etc). The real problem here is that some of you haters don't want to support the underground scene. You would rather support the commercialized artists who get play time on mainstream radio stations. Trust me, I have been around for a while now, have been to many shows over the years and have seen what BPM or DJ Mag consider the top DJs. I much rather listen to lesser known underground artists. For example, I would rather watch Bob Skies throw down over Markus Schulz any day of the week.

You are missing the point completely. This is about promoters using this forum to promote their parties & solely their parties w/o any interaction with any member. This isn't a forum to be promting your parties. Ths is an EDM Community where a big handful of people are friends not only on the board as members but on a personal level as well. You guys for the most part use this for promotional purposes & not for nothing else. So in reality you guys don't see it that way & now that your thread got closed you seem to find time to post in other threads & post your comments.
It's not because there are no big named dj's. It's a matter of a promoter bumping there own thread 2,3,4 in this case 5 times. That is whats considred SPAM. Again if you've ever read any of the threads about this topic you would understand better. BUT! since you don't you don't undersand what is trying to be said.

Part of rebuilding the scene is to support local artists. If you guys really want to ban or suspend me for posting my events then so be it. If the posts didn't get buried in that really long Florida Events Thread I wouldn't have a reason to post in the main Florida forum. I do it because it is easier to notice there. Here's a possible solution:
Can you create a thread for each area? Posting all of Florida in one area is like trying to shove 10 pounds of shit into a 5 pound bag. I think if there was a Tampa Bay thread or even a Central Florida thread it would be less cluttered. This way all of you people who live 300 miles away don't even have to look at my spam. |
well if a member or a "lurker" reads a little bit they can see that the 1st page has a complete list of the Florida Events in their area. Its not rocket science.
