Yeah, I do, I'm going in on the 7th. Until then he gave me plenty of meds to pass the time. Wheee. Except I can't do anything but lay here and watch the ceiling move.

I'm really anal about debt/credit. Never done anything stupid. My first loan was the only one I needed collateral for (which I had covered) and I paid that one off already. I had two more loans after that, and I was approved without collateral or a cosigner.

I don't ever spend beyond my means and always make payments on time, etc.

Only irresponsible dummies pay interest.

It's actually better for your credit to not pay it off every month. Pay off somewhere between 2-4 times the minimum payment. It's good to have some debt.

Also, cash in the bank and/or investments is better than relying on credit for "huge unexpected expenses". I just feel "safer" knowing I have shit saved.

Everyone should have enough savings for up to 6 months without any income. Sadly most people have shit =/

i agree.

but let's say you get a house and the roof caves in. That kind of scratch is more than i tend to keep in a savings account. I'm not talking little 2 grand unexpected expenses here

Savings account = ew.

Then I hope you had house insurance

Savings accounts are awesome when you have V.I.P. accounts

Chances are that would be covered by insurance...

I keep big sums of money in GICs. My saving account is reserved for what I call my "thoughtless saving". I signed up for a high interest tax free account, and have it linked to my chequing so that every time I use my debit card a couple bucks gets transferred into my savings. Only thing about that account is I can only deposit, ummmmm I think 5 grand of my own money every year? I think it's 5. At any rate, I love it.
