Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I love hearing tunes like that.
(Peter I'm going to upload a crapload of PvD sets for hype material before he comes and a 2nd song in a set he does in Ireland in 03/04 is Destroy She Said) sooooo awesome. You should get it.
I did get a sweet dose at Max Graham at FW though so it's cool...

what a great night Knew it was something extra when the loblaws parking lot was full on the basement level, full on the top level, and cars placed here and there before midnight!
I joined the guv entrance when the lined just reached the drink's entrance. Forget how long it took but once we rounded the corner they announced a sold out event and asked everyone without tickets to leave....by the time i got to the front 7 people had been refused entry cause they stayed in line without having a ticket..idiots
bouncer: ticket?
girl: I dont have a ticket but i have cash and a smile
bouncer: try another club
walked in about 12:10, yuri kanes - Right Back was playing, catchy vocals put me in party mood. the crowd was mostly douche bags and for the first time preferred skasians around me to scare away the z103ers.
walked from room to room all night but the drink was where the party was!! thankfully the main room was recorded all night so i never felt the need to submerge myself in the pandemonium.
i think it was signum in the drink who played Satalite which was my favourite moment (never woulda thought i'd hear that song in the drink before last night!), then conveniently walking into main room when pandora came on i like those chanting kids (:P cribby)
P + T in the drink were #1 set, then p in the main room
left around 5:30 so i wouldnt miss nathan's set!!
free popcorn and cotton candy in the tent was a great reward for trapping myself in guetta and having to wait 30 min to make my way out. o and $3 waters vs $4 inside club was like finding treasure

I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

I saw pretty much like 5 people from here all night, and I had an amazing time.
It's good to be back.
Oddly enough, the best moment was in the Gallery at like 11:45 when Ovi played Moritz Piske - Real One. I fuckin lost it, that shit owned

Had a fantastic time from start to finish. I avoided the main floor at all costs until 4am and bounced back and forth between deluxe lounge, the drink and skybar. I could've gone without blake playing that chasing cars remix but it took me back to my first night out at guv (mo solo). really liked what I heard from arnej in the drink and am regretting not shooting a video. missed the introduction to avb because I was in the bathroom. special thanks to peter for getting video of it! only caught bits and pieces of armin's set during visits to skybar and had me dancing while everyone else was smoking
patterson and tyas threw down the runner up for set of the night.I can't believe I was hearing trance in the drink. really hope we get to see this again sometime. Patterson in main room was easily the set of the night. I'm really looking forward to hearing it again from the download. Tyas wins the moment of the night for opening with Suburban Train. I can't believe it took this long to hear that in a club. Pure Bliss. Popped over to Kool Haus to catch some of Sander's set and was really liking what I heard. This night was about trance though, so I returned to the main room. Left at 615 to catch the last part of Nathan's set at zone. this party was totally worth the $65 without question. There wasn't as many familiar faces out than usual for a party this big but the ones that were there took it to the next level!!
April 1st 2010 is marked in my calendar as one of the most memorable days musically for me. I was present for the full ASOT experience in body, mind and soul, during the day and night. Armin created the happiest clubbing atmosphere that Toronto has experienced to date!!
I was really lucky to be a guest of a friend (thank you Negar <3) who won wristbands to the pre-party at The Drink inside The Guvernment. I made it there for 2pm by pulling off a lame excuse that got me out of work by 12 pm lol. The event was quite intimate and it was really nice to meet all the djs. Sean Tyas and Simon Patterson are so laid back and down to earth. It was hilarious doing liquid cocaine shots with them at 3 in the afternoon, right Nada!! loll. Tyas remembered our group that made the trip from Toronto when we saw him back in December at Pure in Buffalo, that was great!! It felt so amazing to be present as Armin is playing live his 450th episode to the rest of the world!! What truly made my day was when he played Arksun – Arisen as the closing classic track of the episode. I was wowed, and beyond amazed to witness that live as I have been requesting this masterpiece to be played by him every time he is in town! Thank you for that Armin, it truly made my day!!
Later at night we arrived at the club around 10 and had booked the booth right beside the dj booth at the corner. Upon entering the main room just after 10 30 all that went through my mind was: Thank You Jesus for this booth!!! The Guv was rammed to the max, as expected!!!
I got to catch the last 20 minutes of Arnej’s set. The music was great and it was nice hearing Strangers We’ve Become inside the Guv
Next up, Blake Jarrell. This was my 4th time catching him live and wow this was the best I’ve seen him!! The highlights of his set for me were Lentos – Forget About Us (Barnes & Heatcliff Remix), The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (Axwell & Dirty South Remix) and Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars (Topher Jones & Blake Jarrell Bootleg). Great warm up set. Thanks Blake
And finally, the man who is responsible for it all, the one and only Armin van Buuren. Opening the set with his edit of Velvetine – Safe (Where Ever You Are) (Rank 1 Remix) was just breathtaking. So haunting, chills and goosebumps all over. The images, the crowd, the energy are reserved in my memory and this has to go down as the most unforgettable set opener I’ve ever experienced!! Thank you Peter for capturing that on video <3. Back in 2004 I first heard Burned with Desire which introduced me to Armin’s amazing music and trance in general and ever since I have been hooked on it. Hearing him play this lovely track 6 years later it reminded me once again of how it all began. What a feeling! The rest of the tracks that got me jumping, dancing, smiling were Tuvan, Right Back, Not Going Home, Pandora, Irufushi, Mindful, Lost, Aisha, Resurrection, Mainstage, This World Is Watching Me and the list goes on. Probably the most epic moment for me was when he played Sun In The Winter…my video of it will speak for itself!!
Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas played just perfect for the time slots of 4-6 am, upbeat and slamming tunes that kept the crowd awake and moving. I’m glad I finally got to see Patterson and so happy that he played Miss You!! Tyas continued where Patterson left and I was so glad to hear him drop Suburban Train and his remix of Yet Another Day!!
Unfortunately I had to leave half way through Tyas’ set because I was way too tired. I missed out on Signum’s set and watching the tracklist it looks like I missed on a lot lol. Oh well, there’s always next time :P
To wrap this review up I’d like to thank all my friends who made this event just as memorable as the brilliant music that was played for my ears. Armin, this man eats and breathes music and if you ask me I’d say he is made of music. The energy, smile, passion and dedication that he possesses are the reasons that my respect for him grows more with every time I see him in a gig every year since 2006!! Thank you for making Toronto a part of such a huge accomplishment, 450 episodes and still counting! <3
Here are the videos I took:
Max Graham feat. Neev Kennedy - Sun In The Winter (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix) epic moment <33
Armin van Buuren vs. Rank 1 feat. Kush - This World Is Watching Me (Cosmic Gate Remix)
Jer Martin vs. Armin van Buuren - Ten Minutes of Burning Desire (Mashup)
Simon Patterson - Miss You (Original Mix)
At the pre-party Armin plays Arksun - Arisen as the classic track of the 450th episode of asot! <333

highlights of the night for me. i remember i had been waiting in the bathroom line for like 15 minutes when Irufushi was dropped, and without even hesitating i ran out of the line to join the insanity as soon as it kicked in.
simon patterson - miss you... WOW. it's always been one of my favourite tunes, but hearing it on the guv sound system just completely melted my brain. i jumped, i shook, i had my hands in the air. holy ****.
the id on the first sean tyas track is tiesto - suburban train, not sure if its a different mix. i couldn't believe he opened with that!!! i was going nuts. like someone else said though, it seemed like the crowd had no clue that this was a classic
thanks for the vids! brings back great memories

Shitty thing about doing the nitro is that I don't ever get to experience it myself...
Just once, I'd like to dance in the cloud...

I'll be more than happy to set it off while you're ripping it up on the dancefloor
