Yeah, well, no shit. If you lie about the departure time then the only person who knows about the real departure time is you. Since when am I the bad guy for complaining about a 2:00 departure when the ticket says 1:30? That's still bullshit, it solves nothing, I still had to sit on my ass drinking overpriced beer for a half hour.

I'll say it again: the promoters and operators have already lost all credibility. I will only consider giving them my money again after they are able to re-establish a reputation for providing a reasonable level of service. Make it happen, because that is the only solution as far as I'm concerned.

people are just accustomed to the boats leaving super-late now.

My friend and I totally went to the wrong pier for one of the cruises last year - and we were already running late. We assumed there was no chance we'd get on the boat but made our way down in a rush hoping we'd squeeze ourselves on. Sure-enough... boat wasn't even close to leaving... (and then someone g'd out which kept us there for even longer ).

I just think that rather than telling us the boat is gonna leave at __ time "sharp" and at cruise-time end up proving your word doesn't mean much by leaving __ hours late - make it very-clear that you're not exaggerating this time and follow-through.

How can anyone be mad? Trust me - punctuality is not a strong point of mine but I wouldn't be mad.

I was on the SOS cruise two years-ago that was delayed because of reasons beyond the promoters' control... stuff like that happens now and then. I don't even blame the promoters now...(it took a group effort to set the status quo), but someone's gotta fix things if you expect the cruise gimmick is gonna be a successful one this year. It really does bite when everyone is there and the damn boat isn't moving (and even worse when the music can't start depending on which pier the boat is leaving from)

Cruise tickets aren't cheap - why pay the ticket price for three hours (if-that) , when the majority of djs are guys we see every-week locally (I love our TO djs - but still...), when cruises are a dime a dozen... the experience has to be great - otherwise ... people will not find what you are offering to be of value and they will bitch.

I just think people like to complain no matter what! If I pay for a 4 hour cruise and get a 4 hour cruise then I'm happy. I'm not going to complain that I had to wait 15min-30min for departure.

A solution would be nice though! But as someone else said, if you leave em behind once, they won't make the same mistake of coming late again!

To be fair, it's usually closer to 45m-1hr+ of waiting.

Also, if you're paying over $100 ($50 cover, drinks, parking) for a boat cruise that lasts 4 hours, and it's 30 minutes late taking off, you're losing out on a substantial amount of the cruise if it comes back on time.

Bingo!

I usually buy my GF's ticket too, add drinks and parking and Im well over 100.

4 out of 6 boats i attended last year left an hour or later than scheduled boarding time. The other two were half hour. One of those boats I was only on the water for three hours. Those were 60 dollar tickets. Fuckin sucked.

It's too bad we can't have open bar until the boat departs like they do in other cities because of Ontario's draconian liquor laws.

That would make me customer #1 on the boat.

I would def be upset as well! I'm saying what if people still received the full 4 hours. But had to wait extra 15-30min for departure, going back to my original point about telling people an earlier departure time. (for example if departure is at 1:30, tell people 1:00 or 1:15.
