Ryan and Kris - What are you guys doing during the day on Sunday? There is a Sunset/Stompy party at Cafe Cocomo all afternoon if you are up for it. http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?175517

We'll be there with a bunch of peeps celebrating our freedom! It's the perfect place for a day party in SF. Let me know if you're down. If not let's meet up before Ruby, get some chill

There are few things more aggravating than trying to dance and enjoy the night as someone stands over you on the dance floor taking video or pictures of the dj (or themself). I wish there were designated media areas off to the sides of the floor. Or better yet, cameras were confiscated like back in the old days

I think it's just more of the type of lighting both clubs use. Avalon's lighting that night was photo friendly. That said, I've seen avalon nice and dark too. I've seen Ruby bright on nights as well.

Ruby has a new DJ setup now on stage. Plasmas surround the DJ.

I have a really stupid question. Brace yourself!

I've never brought a camera into a club before, and as some of you know I just bought one with the help and recommendations of many of you (thanks for that!).

Is there a rule of thumb for which clubs allow/don't allow cameras in the bay area? Do -any- clubs deny entry if you have a camera? I don't remember having to empty my pockets upon entry at Ruby, but I want to make sure I don't have to sneak it in.

I just don't want to get into a situation where I have to go get rid of my camera, come back and wait in line again just to get into the club.

Really looking forward to testing this new camera on Blake & Markus!!

what kind of camera? if its a simple digital point and shoot you won't have any issues.

Yeah, small compact point and shoot digital, fits nicely in my pocket.

Good to hear. Do any SF clubs prohibit them?
