This idea is similar to holding the event on a military base. David Miller should be shot for not ensuring that businesses will be compensated for protest damage. He claims there was an agreement in place; however, if there are no signatures to it then it doesn't exist and he dropped the ball. For three days, it might be worth it for businesses to hire private security guards on a 24 hour basis to secure stores. Pressure also needs to be put on police to ARREST protesters damaging property. This isn't designed to tie up the courts and bring charges, it's so that businesses can verify the correct person to sue for damages since many won't have the insurance to cover damage to windows.

Right now we are scheduled to work from home on the Thursday & Friday, and pending how things go (or how madly things are leading up to the G20) we might be advised to work from home all week!

Simply because these event are the very definition of an inconvenience to those living in the cities which "host" them.
