There are more and more Canadians with more questions demanding for a public inquiry, so far all levels of Government have ignored all the demands and treating as if nothing ever happend.

Here is just an example of how ordinary people were treated during G20 in Toronto:

Thorold, Ontario Amputee Has His Artificial Leg Ripped Off By Police And Is Slammed In Makeshift Cell During G20 Summit – At Least One Ontario MPP Calls The Whole Episode “Shocking”
July 5, 2010 · 107 Comments

s Sarah began pleading with them to give her father a little time and space to get up because he is an amputee, they began kicking and hitting him. One of the police officers used his knee to press Pruyn’s head down so hard on the ground, said Pruyn in an interview this July 4 with Niagara At Large, that his head was still hurting a week later.

Accusing him of resisting arrest, they pulled his walking sticks away from him, tied his hands behind his back and ripped off his prosthetic leg. Then they told him to get up and hop, and when he said he couldn’t, they dragged him across the pavement, tearing skin off his elbows , with his hands still tied behind his back. His glasses were knocked off as they continued to accuse him of resisting arrest and of being a “spitter,” something he said he did not do. They took him to a warehouse and locked him in a steel-mesh cage where his nightmare continued for another 27 hours.

“John’s story is one of the most shocking of the whole (G20 summit) weekend,” said the Ontario New Democratic Party’s justice critic and Niagara area representative Peter Kormos, who has called for a public inquiry into the conduct of security forces during the summit. “He is not a young man and he is an amputee. …. John is not a troublemaker. He is a peacemaker and like most of the people who were arrested, he was never charged with anything , which raises questions about why they were arrested in the first place.”

Agreed .

It is always fun making of fun of the situation since it didn’t affect you, but just imagine if that was you that went through that shit. You wouldn’t be laughing would you?

he'd probably want more.

that's the funniest part of this whole thing. most people here act like some big shots but they'd be the first ones crying like bitches if they got their asses beat for absolutely no reason by the cops, thrown in jail for no reason and not given any opportunity to contact a lawyer, their family, or any of their basic human needs tended to (eg. water, food). pretty sure you'd get better treatment from Al Qaeda.

I call people like that Hypocrites. Just because it didn’t happen to them they just don’t give a fuck. Sad thing is that is a mentality with many Canadians.
I will do all I can to defend our rights and freedom and will not stop until we get a full public inquiry. People dont seem to understand how important this situation is FFS our rights we taken away and people were arrested for NOTHING. I cant understand why people are so blinded and careless when it comes to G20 events in Toronto.

Rally at Montebello Park to call for public inquiry of G20 Summit
Caplan: I feel like I don’t have a voice

Local residents can join the call for a full and transparent investigation into summit security measures, at a rally July 17 at Montebello Park in St. Catharines. Simultaneous rallies will be rolled out across the country.

“The precedent has been set for controlling public dissent,” McMurran said. “Unless there is a concerted outcry against it now, we can expect this to be the norm, as deep cuts in public expenditures make life more and more difficult for millions of Canadians.”

Caplan and her husband Trevor Zaple say they fear for what the future holds for their four-month-old daughter Rylee. “I am organizing this rally because I am disgusted and concerned about what I have read and seen from the Toronto G20. I cannot sit and do nothing.”

“We allowed the government to do this, we allowed our police forces to become para-military groups,” says Nicholas Johnstone of St. Catharines. “People were arrested and denied their right to legal counsel,” Johnstone said. “I hope the biggest outcome is to push people my age to care.”

The Niagara Day of Solidarity will include speeches by local politicians and activists, and a march to City Hall, followed by music from local bands in Montebello Park, at the corner of Ontario and Lake Streets.

this is mostly a gigantic image-making apparatus, and that disgusts me

'anarchists' making images of anarchy

'facists' making images of control

and photographers trying to make a living from documenting this inane drama.

what a big joke

but btw, for eddiezilker who criticizes people for not being all or nothing about technology:

you have to choose your battles. someone can have an iphone but not own a TV, use a water-less toilet, and buy local produce from farmers markets, and that's a hell of a lot more than someone who has all those things but not an iphone. iphones can be used to check out fashion trends, but they can also be used to coordinate revolutionary maneuvers. it's about subversion, moderation, and impact. i personally dont think an 'iphone' is necessary, but why not use an instrument of capitalism to capture its demise? couldn't that be kind of poetic in a way? i mean, do you expect protesters to communicate by smoke signal and carrier pigeon?

your argument makes it seem like you think che guevara should have lobbed rice and beans at the cuban military in order to avoid being hypcritical.
