From dance music? I wouldn't say that. Obviously there are lot of disco artists that are bigger, but even in EDM you have Daft Punk (like Nero said), Prodigy, Scooter, and even Oakenfold are all probably bigger.

Possibly! But in Tiesto's case, it seems there was more Tiesto in DJ than there currently is in Tiesto

But I understand where you are coming from since it seems most of your blogs are about massives and avalon bookings so Im assuming that's where you go and thus is the basis of your statement. Most of those that go to our events are DJs, Promoters (Dave Dean has been to 2 of our last 4 even if they do Control for Fridays now) and EDM purists and thats where Im coming from with my original statement. Bottomline, just a little more knowledgable that the normal person off the street.

I was just saying that what tiesto does won't "blow up in his face" like you said just because he plays huge shows to huge crowds of people who don't particularly care too much if he's pure trance or not, as long as he plays good shit. I happen to be of the same mindset. I doubt the few 100% trance addicts that he will lose because of the switch will hurt his ticket sales/reputation/mindset.

I'm not really sure what being a purist or "house head" has to do with it. And I'm not really sure what you're implying by mentioning the content on my blog and the people who come to your parties. I'm not knowledgeable enough?

how are we defining bigger? it terms of popularity, airplay, recognition.. the only ones that come close are daft punk. yes, oaky made tiesto big by playing silence in the clubs. yes, scooters been around way longer. but you take 100 *random* edm fans (casual, die-hard, etc) and 100 of them will know who tiesto is, 95 of them will know daft punk and the rest will randomly have heard of scooter or prodigy.
