I have seen Tiesto many times, always been a great gig. However! That Kaleidoscope album is truly awful and disappointing. If thats the direction he is going then he can walk alone.

I'm not just a trance lover either, I like almost anything from The Beatles to Oasis to some pop music to Led Zeppelin to Sasha to Oakenfold to Carl Cox to Digweed to Prydz to Man With No Name to film soundtracks to chill out...its a long list!...but that Tiesto album, I'm sorry to say, stinks!

Well i can hardly remember Tiesto's hits as well. Not as outstanding as ATB's 9pm for example. Actually, if u remember his early 2000 tracks, they had already industrial, electro type-alike sounds in comparison to tracks of other djs of that period. What then du expect to hear from him now?

what he played was more like "club trance" his old hits (Flight 643,Traffic,Lethal Industry,Adagio 4 Strings, Dance 4 Life, In the Dark, Carpe Noctum...) were completely different from the period but i'd not say they had an electro bassline or similar, were rather simple, i think that he was the first to introduce mainstream in trance simplifying it and adding some strong basslines, stabs etc... to be honest uplifting trance or any melodic trance genre isn't the best style to dance to unless you're very enthusiastic of the style while Tiësto's music was somewhat more accesible.

Seems logical this evolution, there are house remixes of Flight 643 and Lethal Industry at least and the inclusion of this synth stabs (Tiësto is far from being the master of melodies, sorry fans) doesn't sound weird even now with house being filled by poppy vocals.

What about the guy he worked with? I listened to a documentary on radio 1 a couple of months ago, I can't remember the guy's name (he was Dutch too) but he seemed to be the main man behind most of the big tunes, like Silence for example.
