I'm getting kind of tired of sticking up for him when you guys clusterfuck him with your whining over his ego or self-centeredness, and I really don't want to seem like I'm sucking up to him since I stand to earn absolutely nothing from doing so, but you guys are seriously delusional if you think M4B actually causes more harm than good.
Where the hell are you guys when any thread about theory or production comes up? M4B has a concise, thorough answer to virtually any legitimate question that's asked here. He formed a contest with his own money to encourage you guys to step out of your comfort zone as producers. And you guys get all touchy because he thinks highly of himself in comparison to us, who are a bunch of clueless, bottom-feeding bedroom producers with a couple of moderately successful musicians tossed in. You get pissed off because his sense of humor might be distasteful at, say, a funeral or a wine-tasting convention, but here on the grand old internet the things he says aren't even remotely shocking.
He was a wealth of knowledge in a giant pile of amateurs who are desperately trying to acquire it, and you guys decide that fart jokes and a well-deserved ego are just way too fucking hard to put up with in exchange for extensive musical knowledge that he's always been willing to share with us. Like he said, he gets absolutely nothing out of this site other than a way to waste time, so of course he's not going to take absolutely everything seriously like some of you try so fucking hard to do.
Sorry for the Robbie post, I hate ranting, but this seriously needs saying. You guys have the most vapid sense of humor I've ever seen on the internet before, I don't know what the hell causes it but you guys need to get your heads out of your asses. This thread directly addressed M4B with a stupid question and you guys preceeded to mock and insult him because he gave a legitimate answer that you didn't want to hear.
God I fucking hate you guys sometimes. |
So just because it's the internet, and everyone else does it, makes it OK?
When I was a noob producer I had a group of internet friends studying music production (at Berklee amongst other places) who helped me out without ramming their credentials down my throat at every opportunity. Neither were they abusive in critiquing my stuff. They're now producing for film and TV, one ghost-writes for a massive name, and another has just signed a 3 album deal with a major label - but you wouldn't know it, because they are humble and don't scream about it in people's faces all the time.
I really don't care how much he knows, it's totally irrelevant.
