Fruits have glucose in them, too. And getting most energy from high fructose content food will do a real number on your digestion, so I seriously doubt he is doing that.
Just about any vegan diet will be pretty low in fat. Most are not all that high in protein, either, at least compared to typical omnivorous diets. So what does that leave you with as a source of calories?
Mostly a bunch of carbs. Which are metabolized into...sugar!

that's great but how do you think people that have diabetes eat and survive and control their glucose levels. I'm sure if enough research is done into what is appropriate to eat you will be able to manage your blood glucose levels by keeping a strict diet. Speaking of fruits, only some fruits have glucose, you can always select what to eat.
There are tons of protein substitutes in a vegetarian diet as well although he says it is "mostly" all vegan. Regardless you may laugh at whatever he is doing/trying and say it's bullshit but based on his current condition he must be doing something right.
I think it's quite obvious Zev was referring to simple, refined sugars anyway. The nitpicking is a little much.

Meh, I suppose it is at least possible that the wacky diet is curing cancer. If so, we should do some trials against other treatment methods to see how it matches up.
