i might buy an ipad 2 for my mom. she sometimes uses my computer to surf the net but she could use it to facetime relatives for the most part which saves on long distance bills.

id prefer the motorola xoom/playbook but id like to test it out first since this is a new buy for me. apps and features will be factor for me. id also like to spend less than $700 ish for whatever unit is available at the time. maybe even wait till christmas time to get one. we'll see.

Such a long time in terms of technological change. People will find so many uses for tablets by the end of the year. Even development of apps will blow up tenfold after all the apps on phones.

May not have the biggest growth in recent years, they are working on it IMO, but they still dominate the market share with more than TWICE of the share than Apple coming in 2nd in behind.

For me the biggest thing is travelling. I don't want to have to carry my laptop everywhere I go; the PlayBook is perfect. Even saves me once piece of carry on. Can't wait to get it.

It's the little things like that that are so incredibly valuable.

That's irrelevant. Blackberries are much cheaper than iPhones (some of them even come free with a 2 year plan on Verizon in the US). Plus, tons of corporations buy massive amounts of blackberries for employees, because all they need to use them for is email. Every single person for the company I work for who is a Manager of a division or higher has a corporate provided Blackberry. Their market share has nothing to do with the quality/performance of their phones.

Ok then, so if iPhones are so great, why don't companies buy massive amounts of them for their employees? What does BlackBerry have something that is superior to the iPhone and Androids that make them so desirable by corporations globally and are the industry standard for business communications devices?!

And then you can't deny their place in the smartphone industry, or knock them down for their recent releases or offerings to the tech world. Having a BlackBerry and a BIS/BES is what makes them who they are, what they came for and what they do. They are the industry leader/standard for what their prime and intended purpose is.

So be it if that reason doesn't exactly resonate with the average end user anymore because they rather throw birds at things and have an app that makes fart noises.

I just need it to communicate, so BlackBerry does what I need it to do. I get my emails, can send them, use BBM, I have access to social networks and make calls and send txts. I got a few apps and I'm sorted.

And my eagerness for the Playbook is to perhaps bridge the gap or fill the void that may be missing without a iPhone. I can use it with my BlackBerry, and utilize it as a more media and app based device. I don't need it to be my fuckin computer, I have one of those at home.

Everyone thinks I'm pissing on iPhones and other apple products. I'm not, I think they are great, but too fuckin expensive and often overrated by obsessive fanboys and this mystique of sexy-elite-nerdom.

I just get really fuckin irritated when I see some douchebag with a iPhone4 on a pay as you go voice only plan or some shit like that just so that piece of shit can say he has an iPhone and whip it out whenever and use it as visual accessory to appear cool or hip over it's actual capabilities as a smartphone. Same goes for retards who go and buy macbooks and macbook pros with specs that are ridiculous, drop over $2k on one and then use it for browsing the fuckin internet and playing movies.
