system-j, thanks for the heads up on dnb. could've done without the speculative bickering though. id like to see girls dancing to 2011 dnb, wheres the youtube of that? At future sound of breaks and world of dnb in miami a couple years ago all i saw was 90's militant vibe still, with dudes wearing camouflage hoodies and candy raver girls. so its changed drastically in a few short years? |
There are still militant junglists, of course, but my whole point is that drum 'n bass has such huge variety to it. If you go to a neurofunk night you're going to get camo gear and aggressive male vibes, but there's so much more to it than that. There are a couple of regular drum 'n bass nights in my city that attract around a thousand people, a lot of them students.
I've no idea where the Youtubes are of girls dancing. I'm basing my conclusion on meeting a lot of girls who like drum 'n bass. I'm going to see LTJ Bukem next week with a girl I work with.

One way to describe "cool" is the exact opposite of mainstream.
Not to say I don't agree with you, but you're hurting your own case. |
No I'm not. My whole point is that drum 'n bass is "cool" in every possible sense. It's cool in the 18 year old kid sense, and it's also cool in the genuine underground sense. Everyone went fucking nuts when they heard ASC's podcast for RA last year.
