meth probably works great for the first 2 days. Then you will probably find the FBi van outside more interesting.

When I said "condition", I meant that in a general way, including the fact that you were up till 5:30. I find it impossible to work on my music past around 2-3am.

this thread turned an interesting direction and maybe isn't that strange to do drugs in the studio, a lot of painters did in the past and it's not a secret, sometimes wasn't imagination, their reality was that...

My yesterday experience, i haven't listened to the track on detail but doesn't sound that bad, i worked like 5 hours on it 3 hours while i was on hash which gives me relax and quietness feeling , rarely do this but smoke cigarettes usually when producing , almost i smoke as much as when i go clubbing.

The last 2 hours i came back from clubbing drunk like a monkey and started at 6am till 8am or so when i was so wasted that i closed it because i barely standed on foot.

The result is this, more psychedelic/acid that what i usually do, melodies are rather mediocre, specially the last one seems like Zombie Nation - Kernkraft... who cares really.

Looks a bit boring but needs more development i actually like the dreamy lead i achieved.

Very interesting....Love the main melody, and the drums are pretty different, but in a good way.

while I never intend to do drugs, I am overall surprised at how many people use them when making tracks. And to be realistic, out of all EDM genres, trance would probably be the best genre to make when high.

After looking back at all the replies so far, I vote that this thread goes in the "Classic old threads / Inactive Forums" Archive.

There are good and bad drugs, and good and bad behaviors related to all activities be it yoga, meditation, plant drugs, synthetic drugs, caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, food, sex, television, exercise, shopping, or gaming.

We are a drug fueled, chemically driven species. Sometimes the left side of the brain needs to get out of the way to let the muse flow, no matter how technically accomplished you are.

Approached correctly even outside the studio the correct application of energy via shamanic intention through meditation, or (for some) responsibly used drugs, at the right time and in the right place, in the right mindset, may help one start doing more, and spinning wheels from questioning their path a bit less. Just a thought.

As someone once said, "nobody is smarter than you are." No one can tell you how to row your own boat. Ultimately you can be shown the door, but you must cross the threshold and express whatever it is inside that draws you to art - whatever it means for you. Don't make music, don't live life for anyone other than yourself. Not your friends, not your family, not your girlfriend, nor your parents, or teachers, or mentors. Only for yourself. Only inside yourself will you find the answers you're looking for... and the right questions that apply to you.

I'm always hitting the trees like Sunny Bono in the studio, it is my muse.

psytrance is music that is very related to drugs, same goes for techno if you intend to produce music for people doing drugs you've to experience a rollercoaster once, apart from hash and cannabis i rarely do the others but if you are playing in front of an audience full on cocaine you need to know how they feel, "it's being professional"

For melodies and anything that involves "inspiration" drugs help but now i've listened the track carefully there's little but no phrasing and the arrangement sucks, the final steps need to be done calmly.
