watching markus live right now, he's playing a trancier and more melodic set than what i've seen recently.

one good thing that may come out of this is that the trance sound may come back since there is no point trying to compete w the electro producers since their popularity is too hard to beat, just do what got you famous in the first place.

I'm hoping for a couple of things thanks to this year's poll:

1. That #trancefamily people stop bitching and ruining the scene by insisting that everything that isn't trance is crap because they're butthurt about Armin's rank,

and

2. That the trance producers/DJs who insisted on trying to "court" house fans realize that they should stick with what they do best and let the mainstream fans come to them naturally.

Because, let's face it, Avicii is probably #3 because of people who voted for Guetta last year. The mainstream's taste in music is improving... slowly.

i'm pretty sure these are all not legitimate votes. i have a feeling that people we using custom built programs to acquire a lot of these votes. This list is just toooo weird yo.

agreed, and it becomes more apparent the farther down the list you go... like for example tenishia in the mid-50's after being 90-something last year. what have they done that's made them any more relevant in the last year or so? and there seem to be way more dj's this year than before that i've never fucking heard of? who knows.

The polls are very disappointing this year. The djs getting votes are the high profile djs that have been very commercialized. The truth is that many of those top djs have also been touring like a mother****** in the last year. The noobs that are voting just aren't educated, so they vote for who they know. It's hard for me to see who I want to see. The closest major city to me is Seattle, and that is an 8 hour drive. I just hope the festivals can provide something for me, because I can't go to a club every weekend, but it's usually the same djs at every festival, the ones getting the votes. Should I blame the promoters involved in the big events, because I don't get to see who i want to see, and the good djs aren't getting the credit they deserve? Maybe some of the djs I want to see need to make themselves more available instead of playing the same cities and clubs.

I wonder what affect Insomniac has on this list. Pretty much The Top 20 are all their mainstage DJ's.

I think you cracked the puzzle. Noobs should vote for people they DON'T know. That's how all of us should vote.

as someone mentioned.. i think the age of the voters has something to do with it.. if you take the age of a lot of digweed/sasha/sven/cox, etc fans..they got things to do like making a living.. saving/maintaining their house they own.. starting a family ..raising kids..etc.

when ur younger and live off mommy and daddy and ur only priority is school ..that leaves u with a lot of time to do be involved in social media.etc.

its kinda like yelp.com.. avg age of a yelper is between 18-30..doesnt really reflect the mass population
