I think maybe the "point of view gun" in Hitchhikers Guide... when there's a crossover from a book it's obvious how they change things around so it'll work as pig feed for the masses. Like I can imagine a group of people sitting around a table "hmm there's nothing in this film 11 year old girls can really latch on to, I know why don't we have Zooey Deschanel cry about her feelings" and then they all blow each other
