For people who take meds for mental illnesses, the pills are more of a push to get you going in the right direction. And some people I know swear they will never take a pill for a distraught time in their life.

But those of us that do take pills have to realize the pills can only do so much, you have to work on yourself while on your meds to get to the root of your issues.

My main focus with you as I told you in the PM, you are taking the wrong meds. I read on each of the ones you take and some seemed ok but that one is totally wrong for you. If they won't change your meds, ask if they will higher the dosage of each med. If the doctor won't do that then find another doctor that will.

People just don't get you, and it would piss me off even more and make me push other people away from me. Do you have any siblings, or someone in the family that you're close with? I'm very close with my sister which I'm thankful for, but I still can't share "all my issues" with her.. Anyways as this herb is wearing off lol, i hope you find your inner peace and share the secrets with others so they have something to look forward to and ignore threads like this

Perhaps it was too much stress, I'm not quite sure. It wasn't issues that gradually developed, it was a sudden breakdown of sorts. All of a sudden I thought I was closer to G-d, and my vision had become brighter. I had extreme racing thoughts, irritability, and aggression. I couldn't sit still or relax, I had to keep walking. My mind felt like it was on overdrive, and I couldn't detach myself from my surroundings. I'm guessing it was clear mania.

I have a couple of friends who are Bipolar, and they immediately related to my symptoms. Those who aren't Bipolar, or who have never experienced a manic episode, could not understand me (with the exception of a few psychiatrists, who diagnosed me). It's definitely not a phase, as I've been through various phases in my life, but always retained my normalcy and equilibrium.

I also hope I find inner peace, but it seems like the only way to do that is to wait until the medication starts to work, and hopefully bring me back to my old, normal self.

I think medication serves as a helping push in the beginning, but for me the toughest part was after, to try to control your brain to operate the same or close to it without the medication. that's the toughest step for me.

As for the original title of this thread:

If a person is in lots of pain, he/she should seek medical attention for sure, but who am I to call him selfish or anything else when I'm not in his shoes and not going through the same issues.

I would never call the person selfish, only the act itself, and only under the circumstances I've described.

not 100% old self.. i'd say 70% since the meds do make you different (not in a bad way). but my issues were different than yours. after the meds settled in the system, it's the mental part that's very overwhelming which causes the anxiety and related negative thoughts that go with it.
