Give your head a shake....you're probably one his buddies
and you probably didn't even catch his whole set
AND SERIOUSLY.....Ferry blew Armin away.....like a feather in the wind
for one...Ferry has been in this biz...alot longer than Armin
(Armin is friggin GREAT NO DOUBT )
but he's not FERRY
he's not Gouryella
and last night was a night never to be forgotten
so don't start saying he was the biggest disappointment of 2002
and don't start saying he put you to sleep
because ask anyone....and better yet
ask Del la Sol (DEL)
what he thought ok
and if you don't know who DeL is...then you're seriously out to lunch
damn n000bs
drive me nuts

Yea, I am one of his buddies, and yea, I didn't catch his whole set. Wanna know why? Cuz it was BORING. Is it so hard to fucking understand this? I wasn't having fun. I was literally falling asleep. I did stay longer than Hordash, and heard nothing that got me going. Christ, even Cape Town - Pitstop didn't do anything to me.

Thats your opinion...but I think that it would've been better if Ferry didn't start his sets the same way Armin used to...back when Armin's mix of Seven Cities was a NEW track.

Ferry being in the biz longer than Armin means jack shit. True, Corsten might've contributed more in the past (eg. Out of the Blue) but he's not as good as Armin at the present.

Ferry isnt Gouryella either...the classic tracks that have made Gouryella a name synonomous to trance were the tracks that were produced with Tiesto. Ligaya sucks...it doesn't hold anything that Gouryella have become known for. Ayu - Connected (Ferry Corsten dub) is good though, but its wearing a little thin Once again, Armin is at the forefront, he is making a lot better remixes than Ferry is at the moment.

Of course not...Dave Seaman fuckin owned! (but of course, you're gonna gimme some "prog sucks/is boring" bullshit )

Oh, I think I just did above And as for being the biggest disappointment of 2002, I never said that...but he was a big dissappoint IN MY OPINION

Yeah, I'm sure he had a blast. His opinion doesn't relate to mine. If he had a blast, then thats great...I'm glad he did. But his opinion doesn't have an effect on mine...and if you think it should, then you really are pathetic :rolls eyes: And why specifically him? Just cause he runs this site doesn't make him the 'all-knowing' trance expert here and he surely isn't one to tell people WHAT to think of a party...unlike you

...if I didn't, then why would I be out to lunch? I guess I wouldn't be as cool as you right?

And here, you just make a complete ass of yourself. First off, I've been on these forums before you and I've been into the scene long enough to tell the difference between a good and bad start of a DJ set. And secondly, if my 'registered date' was October 2002 (or any other month), then that wouldn't mean anything...it wouldn't make me any less "educated" than you. Although you surely think so.

This forum is quickly turning into a soap opera
Anyways, here's my review of the night, I thought it was a really good night, Mark Oliver ripped the place apart taking us all back to the days when Trance was the dominant sound at any party/club. Hearing Mark drop tracks like:
Binary Finary - 1998 "PVD remix)
Three Drives - Greece 2000
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
Nu-Nrg - Dreamland (Rank 1 remix)
Rank 1 - Airwave
PVD - Tell Me Why? (The Riddle)
Lost Witness - Happiness Happening
DJ Sakin - Protect Your Mind
Chakra - Love Shines Through
Indiana - Do You Hear Me? (Art Of Trance Remix)
Cygnus X - Superstring
Taucher - Child of the Universe
Really brought back some great memories, its been a long time since I've heard him spin a set like that, and it was very refreshing to hear it.
As for Ferry, his first transition from the Armin remix of Seven Cities into Oliver Lieb's remix of "Am I On Pause" by Jan Johnston could have been better, but after that I found his mixing to be seamless. I thought his set had a much better flow to it than it did the last time, he started off with progressive trance, throwing in a few anthems here and there, started to get a little harder and then exploded with an onset of classic after classic. Plus he started early and ended later than I expected so I can't complain, I really enjoyed his set. The last time he was here you guys complained his set didn't have a good flow. So this time he structures his set quite well, in my opinion, and you guys complain that he put you to sleep.....a well structured set takes you on a journey, meaning you have to listen to the entire set to get the full effect. If the DJ's attempt is to take you on a journey then don't expect the DJ to come out full on banging non stop, it takes a while for the set to pick up. I find the first hour of Tiesto's sets to be pretty boring too until he starts to pick it up. Anyways, I had a blast, it was one of the best parties for me this year.
Here's what I can remember from Ferry's set
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Armin remix)
Jan Johnston - Am I on Pause (Oliver Lieb remix)
Eon - Pocket Damage
Gouryella - Ligaya
Gouryella - Tenshi
Gouryella - Gouryella
Planisphere - Moonshine
Three Drives - Greece 2000 (remix ?????)
Miss Jane - Its a fine Day (remix ????)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Binary Finary - 2000 (Gouryella remix)
Picotto - Back To Cali (Push remix)
Plastic Boy - Silver Bath
Vimana - We Came
Ferry Corsten - Punk
PVD - Another Way
Pulsar - Cloudwalking
Signum feat Katana - Third Dimension
It seems like a lot of older tunes, but there were a lot of tracks that I didn't recognize (mostly during the first half of his set), which were probably newer.
