lol he looks like a pear. Anyone watch his RBMA interview last year? Really awesome talk, but he was hiccuping for 2 hours.. hes legit gonna have a heart attack soon.

No I'm not. In your bratty little tantrum you missed the fact I've never taken issue with your assertion that Troxler can get it together and play a blinder. I've been taking issue with your claim that all criticisms of Troxler in this thread come down to sheer ignorance. I pointed out a perfectly good reason why people might be hating on him in the context of this Top 100 poll, and you agreed it was valid. Therefore, you shouldn't have come into this thread and written off all Troxler criticism as ignorance. That is the behaviour of a piss-streak.

If a DJ can't even cue a record up properly half the time he plays because he's too fucked up, people have a right to shit on him when it comes to a poll ranking him as one of the best DJs in the world. Being great is about consistency. You're Brazilian. Troxler is like Hulk. On his day Hulk can be spectacular and look like a world-beater, but a lot of the time he's ineffectual and mediocre. He's not one of the best players in the world. If Hulk came out #4 on a poll of best players, you bet your ass people would be hating on him, and with good reason.

Shit like this was funny...in 2010. The hipsterdom breaks down to reveal very little that's actually worth listening to.

To his credit (in his defense?) the guy really does aspire to a bit more than this. During Hawtin's ENTER tour, on the few gigs he played, he would actually go raid the local record store and pick out new, offbeat vinyl before he went on (or so I was told), though I can't say if that's just more of the same ironic fluff. He just reminds me of that friend who is incapable of being serious for fear of being exposed as ultimately quite dull.

Pretty spot on in my opinion.

Replace the names on the list by more unicorn friendly ones, and you all are acting like the guys you used to make fun of a few years back.

Y'all a bunch of pole lovers.

Okay, well, if that's the impasse, then I don't even have to read this thread in order to conclude that everything you've said is completely wrong.

Is Seth Troxler a Sven Vath for the newer generation? Discuss citing examples (I would but I'm like, at work and stuff)

Yeah, I'm still searching for that poll with Airwave and Ben Liebrand in it...

Most polls suck.

Not sure if they can compare. Sven Vath has contributed more than most to the evolution of techno (and trance). He was spearheading (among others of course) the whole scene with labels such as Harthouse and Eye-Q in the early 90s and threw some legendary parties at the Omen. Cocoon (Club and Label) hasn't been insignificant either. As a DJ he might not always been terribly worried about transitions but could do great 10 hours sets (I've caught a few of those myself) that could rival the best

Yes he had a playful/crazy side but that was never the main part of his image IMO and it never felt like it was part of a big marketing strategy that you get with Seth.
