Understood.
I won't say I like each and every track he plays in the deep mix but I've been hearing things I considered perfectly befitting the "deeper" or "progressiver" part of his track selection.
Different perception I guess. I remember the last time I attempted participating in a Joof discussion everyone's different understanding of sub genre labels didn't exactly make things run smoothly.

I think John's being quite inclusive - if that's the right word - in terms of who he associates with in his radio show and events he collaborates with.

Analog Jungs - Phoenix (Subandrio Remix) [Balkan Connection]
Basil O'Glue - Nekyia (Facade Remix) [Forescape digital]
Aly & Fila - Rebirth (Bluum_Remix) [FSOEUV]
Kostas Maskalides - Kevlar [Unity Records]
Just my 2 cents

This isn't tech house. You clearly have no idea what "tech house" means. Most of this is just prog for trance fans, in that it's got that enormous echo-chamber mixdown and loads of layers. He's been playing stuff like this for years and years now, whatever you think of it.

This thread and the Airwave thread have reminded me how irritating these pompous "proper trance" fans are.

That's the thing I feel needs to come back. The quality of the mixing all tracks have to be done right like for example like this one.

That transition out of Bedrock - Heaven Scent to Ruash & Murray - Epic is screaming amateur at best, lol.

Tracks 2 to 3, 16:00.

Shame / Disagreement

No love for Progressive House in general? "call it what you want" now is considered a genre?

Easy, that does not sound like Oldschool Sterio. Just some 808 kick with textural pads in the backgrounds nd down groove boring saw baseline.

I'd choose this over yours

My point was that the track is better than the stuff played in the first hour. I already know that the old Chris Sterio was miles ahead of anything.Him and Steve Mcgrath.

Well only the first 15 min do it for me and that one track in 38:00 thats all that pleases my ears, I'm not what you would consider a deep global trance groove fan. When it comes to PSY- I like really colorful synth line and chords.

That new ashkan duality album is one of them

I don't dig deep into PSY catalogues anymore.

Usually ziptnf (TA) makes good psy mixes that I like, he has good picks that stand out.

Ziptnf - Magic Treasure (Rich Progressive Psy)

^ click that for an example.

He's deleted the post I was replying to, so that quip won't make as much sense now.
