from my understanding, all anti-depressents release a drug in ur mody known as Seratonin. The higher the amount of a anti-D, the more seratonin is released. It doesn't exactly make u "high" but it alters u into a passive mood. I have the maximum amount of paxil for my age and ever since i started paxil, i just feel great. I never get TOO mad, but also not TOO happy either.
Prozac never worked for me, but i'm not one to recommend

everybody has a different chemistry in their body. Just because paxil works with me, doesn't mean it works with everybody. Sometimes there are side affects, not enough dosoge, or sometimes it's just the body won't react to it.
I took prozac for about 3 weeks and i just didn't feel anything happening to me. I remember being in the hospital and seeing other prozac takers be the life of the party. but i guess it wasn't for my body
From my experience, it took about 5 days to start controlling my mood swings. I've been through many events since the started taking paxil, bad and good, but it never brings me down to an almost permanent depression. I still get depressed some days, but it takes the paxil to make sure i don't "overdo" it.
