Hooman, I love ya like a brother, but I have to disagree with you that the majority of the blame should be placed on the veterans.
Using the word queer is slightly offensive as well, but you know, let's just sit here and let the noob say what the hell he wants?

Jon, I did read all the comments in various threads. I think SAKE definitely has not behaved appropriately, I just think people over-reacted adding to the problem and making the whole thing bigger than needed. For example, if I had someone call my favourite DJ crappy, I would either ignore them or try and tell them why they're wrong. After all, my DJ is no worse cuz of their comment. I wouldn't jump out ganging up against them calling them names. That just makes things worse. What I've seen happen over and over in the forum is people jumping at each other's throats, sometimes because they didn't ignore an ignorant comment, and often because they keep misreading or misinterpreting each other's posts. It all makes for an unpleasant vibe in the forum.
Now, I never said that majority of blame should be on veterans. It's just that I have higher expectations from the veterans. I know many enough to know they are cool people, so it surprises me to see these kinds of reactions. Perhaps the word veteran was inappropriate, as some of the frequent flamers are relatively new. It's just that they post so frequently that it feels like they are not.
Using the word queer is more than offensive and I think Sake should appologize and refrain from using that again. I frankly would like forum rules that ban people from using many types of offensive language. But to be honest, many people have said worse things and been ignored. But the Lynch mob seems to be after poor Sake and nothing will be excused.
Again, I am not defending anyone. I just believe in being fair, even if I don't like someone. I'd like a more tolerant environment that welcomes and teaches the newcomers. I guess I've just become way too soft in my old age.
BTW, I am glad you voiced your disagreement with me, see how it can be done nicely?
Sake, these people do have a point though and you should probably apologize and refrain from posting for a bit to let people cool down. And if you're gonna try making "suggestions" for change in the forum, I suggest you do so once you're a little more established and in a nicer way.
Last point. To give an example of how people have been very inappropriate yet to my knowledge people have not tried to kick them off the forum, take a look at some of TranceLudaks posts. No offence Tranceludak, but every single post that I have seen from you is extremely angry, offensive, etc. You really need to chill....
