Thumbs up

PVD has an open date for April 18th. He has played in NYC for the past two years on Good Friday and it just so happens it is Good Friday on the 18th. Plus, I heard from a source that he is coming back!!!!!

Jeeez ! ! Standing for hours, with ticket in hand .. which as I saw costed 40 bucks, in the cold? ? thats if it was cold.. and, all the other hassle, I would go all somewhat get in contact with the club and ask them for the money back. If they dont give you the money back, you guys should atleast scare them with some letter you are being sue for the following reason, or just let them knwo that you guys will sue if you dont get the money back. They will give you the money back since it would cost them way more being sue then giving you the money back. You guys have to stand up and dont let yourself be robbed, thats why people get ripped off all the time, because they dont stand up!

Big Ears a perfect venue

PVD shouldn't play clubs anymore the club promoters should rent out bigger venues like stadiums and concert halls. Like ID&T does in Europe. With PVD it's getting to that point this year. Promoters should start thinking of EDM stars as true artists this way and elliminate that whole stupid club, bouncer, guestlist, drama. These places just can't hold the demand that PVD has.

The fact of the matter is that they are loosing money and pissing off patrons by not providing a venue that will easily hold 10,000.

Just my opinion. EDM is bigger than clublife.

EDM is... sadly, most of public could not tell PvD from Utah Saints... They call it "techno" or "rave"... What the fuck is "rave" music??? Idjits.... Anywho, sadly word "rave" freaks everyone out. Moby seems to be one of few to pull it off - simply because it's like a concert. Many venues like stadiums would not want to have anything to do with it because of liability and high potential for abuse. Security is tough. It's a lot easier to controll sale of booze at the venue then control of drugs. Let's be honest - EDM is associated with drugs... by media, by ignorant masses... Same as rock-and roll was once considered devil music, same as Swing was illegal in germany (ever seen Swing Kids - kinda reminds me of US nowdays... music is different, dance moves slightly different - meaning is the same...)

anywho, if you want to read interesting info about the difficulties and nightmares that come with putting up events of such a high magnitude, hear it from "the horse's mouth" - a guy who used to run very successful Ultraworld Thanksgiving parties in D.C. Sadly, the last year of the parties was when PvD came. Venue drew about 10,000 people and after all the arrests, problems with security, drug use and crowd control DC armory refused any future parties, thereby killing one of the best events in the US. So, as much as I'd like to see EDM recognized - it won't happen anytime soon. WMF is the closest we'll get. Read Ultraworld story HERE
