true, bourne identity was good too when it comes to that... the slight difference in the good thief is that the plot spends a little more time in the older part of paris, with the older building and the secluded alleys, a bit more "underground" than the usual flashiness that you often see...

The entire movie was shot along the coast. He lives in Nice and owns an appartment there. There was no Paris in there at all.

I agree with Ortemy about the comment on Europe in films. Talented Mr. Ripley [one of the reasons I got so hooked on Amalfi coast] and Bourne Identity [ends on Mykonos!] were not very good movies, but the locations were amazing.

lol, i just caught this movie tonight on TMN (god bless the big black box ) and I was laughing my ass off throughout much of the movie, the lyrics to those songs are too funny... the film reminded me sooo much of our own domestic films, the plot, the actors, the conversations, everything about it is almost identical to ours... i could see why some people would walk out stunned though, lol...

umm, one of our films similar to this one i guess would prolly be "White Cat, Black Cat"...

IMO Wedding is hillarious Even tho it's exagerating many things, it is soooo close to reality and that's the best thing about it. But i guess u have to be familiar with the russian culture (which should not be a problem for u) to understand it well and find it funny.

lol, yah, i thought it was pretty realistic, paints a pretty good picture of life in rural parts of the country (again, same as ours)...

i wish i spoke russian though, i'm sure there were a lot of inside jokes that could not have been translated properly into english...

I saw it
It's funny, yeah.. but not one of the best movies..
And it does remind me of 'Black cat, white cat', which I'm not the biggest fan of. :| He just always presents it the same.. gypsies and peasants

TranceGeek, did you catch 'Talk to her' yet?

yeah, i don't get why he's so obsessed with gypsies either... granted they did help him win the golden palm tree in cannes, but that was like 15 years ago, he should let them go already... i guess he has now, finally... did you like "underground"? i thought that one was fucking disasterous...

anyways, i was gonna go catch talk to her sometime during this week, prolly tonight i will since i've got nothing planned... it's only playing at one theater in the whole city i think, cineplex at manulife...

I am not really the biggest fan of Kusturica.. I appreciate his creativity and that perception of life he has, which he presents so clearly in his movies, but that's all. I do like to see his movies, but just once. Although, I think it is time for him to change a bit and give something new. Surprise me

Talk to her, playing at:
Cumberland 4
TALK TO HER [14A] 1:50 4:45 7:40 10:30

Festival Cinemas Royal
TALK TO HER [AA] 7:00

Mt. Pleasant Theatre
TALK TO HER [14A] 6.55

Sheppard Grande, Toronto
TALK TO HER [14A] 1:40 4:30 7:20 9:50

Hurry, tomorrow are new listings and this movie has been running for more than 5 months now.

I watched Thief yesterday (Vor). Good movie, sooo realistic The end of the movie practically shows what was happening all over Russia in the begining of 90's

it has been a looooooong while since i was left speechless after watching a film, but i'm completely and utterly speechless after seeing "talk to her"... i really felt sorry once it had ended, i hoped it would've gone for hours... music was astounding, especially in that one scene, by the pool, with the live male vocalist , wow...
