John, from what I understod what Pumaz wrote was that he, me, you, etc shouldn't lock ourself up... He's one of "us".. haha
Anyway I also in the middle of uni finals so no time for me either...
I have a easy tip for people wanting to have a midi! This is almost 100% noob proof.
1. Take out the part from the song you want to have and edit the sample so it's "right" lenght, cut all unnecesary parts (from the start and end)..
2. Then load it up in your sequenser (make it a wav) and load a synth (something that sounds something like the sound your are copying).
3. Now play the sample (adjust the sample or bpm so it in tempo) at the same time as you play the synth on top of it. Now it's just a matter of moving the keys up and down until you find the "right" one! With some work you should be able to figure out most requests... Even I use it from time to time when I get a hard request!
Now try it!

i was just being sarcastic about all the requests. i'm making the same point you are making.
and i'm not saying you should lock yourself up and make midi's because my ears are bad. since i actually find it relaxing to figure out a melody i do it for fun and i don't mind doing requests with my not so perfect ears, it just takes more time (yes i have done quite some requests too). and that's what i'm lacking at the moment. and then looking at the number of requests of people............. |
