(and a few others) and he is no. 17. and i bet the majority of people who voted for him were doing it on the basis of 'strange world' or 'the legacy' lol!
the fact that tiesto is above the likes of fred baker, james holden etc etc makes me feel very confused! anyways... apart from adagio, has tiesto actually put any tracks together recently or does he just milk work from decent musicians? tiesto has been boring since he introduced crap like urban train.
you are completely wrong. Being DJ has nothing to do with being a producer. One can be a really crap producer but a damn good DJ. Or you can be a really lousy DJ but a fuckin good producer (BT anyone?) Every DJ does not produce music and it takes alot to be a good DJ. Yes anyone can spin random tunes. But making the set flow good and reading the crowd are essential stuff when it comes to be a good DJ.
This is the main problem in polls like these. Alot of people have no clue if a producer is a DJ or not. They still give their vote just because one or two of his productions are good.

Bah...
It should be:
Vote position = Production ability + Live Mixing ability + Remixing ability
.... if that makes sense.... the poll name shoulda been different
hell, i couldn't even decide what to vote for in this poll... so i didn't.... there's so much good stuff out there... i'd need to vote atleast 15 artists...
I think ASOT is the only thing pushing AVB above PVD and Tiesto, who don't have a weekly radio show, to garner more fans. They just have a big, strong, solid fanbase to rely on.

Is it really that hard for people to discern between a DJ and a producer? Grief.

PVD has a weekly show (Soundgarden) but it's not nearly as popular as ASOT.

We try to see BT everytime he is near Dallas. It is sad to see jokes like Cockenfold higher than him in the list. So much for the "addict" part.

well, this poll isn't purely about DJing i don't think... i think it's OK for ppl to vote for producers if they like...
in the end, it's all about the music. I might like Ace's Delights productions more than say..... i dunno.. Kyau vs ALebert's live sets... so i should be able to vote that way...
i thnk at the poll, swamper said u can vote for any DJ, producer, etc etc. that u want...
it's just that the poll is called a DJ poll, which is kinda weird.

Christ.
Why is it called 'Tranceaddict Top 100 DJs Poll' if it's not supposed to be a DJ poll. And why would you vote for Ace's Delight in a DJ poll? I'm seriously concerned that you're having difficulty grasping this concept.
