fucking fileplanet die
Ive been playing it a fair bit.
The game has a lot of depth, and the ONE map in the BETA can be played in 50 million ways. The asymmetrical gameplay is awesome which forces you to play the factions differently. For example playing medic as GDF (humans), you can pretty much revive your team mates instantly. Strogg medics which are known as 'Technicians' cant revive instantly and are subject to enemy fire when reviving. However they have this really fucking cool power where they can create spawn hosts out of dead GDF bodies. Basically you make the spawn host ( which takes the same amount of time as a revive ) and if you Claim the spawn host - next time you die, you spawn at that spot.
Therefore creating spawnhosts for your team mates while defending an objective becomes just as critical as reviving. Keeps them in the action all the time.
Theres a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed before the release, but I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games that will be insanely popular because of its depth.

lol bots suck.
fps's are meant for team play, join a clan and play the game to its full extent. you will enjoy it much more.

you see, thats the thing. i love LAN parties, playing with and against friends. whilst i enjoy the challenge of online play, i dont enjoy all the dickheads out there that ruin the experience for other players. i also dont really enjoy beating (or getting beaten by) faceless opponents. i much prefer playing with people i know. i dont know that i have the commitment to join a clan either.
the Q3 bots were awesome for massively stacked capture the flag games. having read the interview with the bot designer, im quietly confident the bot experience will at least keep me entertained for a while.

ha! yeah, thats just super gay. gaming is just like any other "sport" there are guides to sportsman-like behaviour. i won't exceed them just to win anymore than i used to cheat on the soccer field.
youre a cvnt!

I think forcing people to play online is a bit homo, particularly if someone wants to play the game and their net connection is rooted. Having said that I prefer to play against real people because while you get your whining fags who cry it up because they cant aim or have any sense of strategy... there will be players who are 10 times better than the bots. I guess the more competitive it is - the more I enjoy it.

yeah lan parties for sure. i should have said against other people instead of referring to just online play.
i know bots are getting pretty good these days but a it gets boring pretty quick imo. i agree with you there are some dickheads around in online play but that just makes it more fun when u own them although ive found the better you get and higher your team gets, theres less dickheads
