It really depends. The Taliban are known to claim attacks that they didn't actually conduct. The Media knows this and will not hesitate to provide information which debunks the Taliban's claims. Time will tell. From what I've read on the news sites, it seems that since the suicide bombers were targeting paramilitary recruits, which provide security to Pakistan. The Taliban care only about control and since many Taliban have fled to Pakistan since the 2001 Invasion, they wish to control the areas they reside in, if not Pakistan in its entirety.
EDIT: The "Revenge" bit is just Taliban propaganda to make them seem competent and fast acting. The Taliban are not capable of planning an attack of this scale in a matter of 2 weeks.
