Yea, but to get him, we'd have to sacrifice quite a bit.
Power is the least of our worries. They need to dump Damon (they should have never picked him up in the first place), and find themselves a new lead off hitter with speed.
Secondly, they NEED to find relief pitching. E. Gagne/A. Otsuka, B. Fuentes, C. Cordero, and J. Nathan are all rumored to be available to move. They need to find themselves a veteran long reliever like Scot Shields. Otherwise, they are gonna keep blowing leads or impinge on their chances of getting back into a game. |
Tex would fill more than power, he'd be the first 'real' first baseman we've had since tino.
I agree that damon was a stupid pick up. Who's out in the market for leadoff hitters? Mabye we need to drop Jet back in the leadoff role and move melke or cano in the 2 hole.
i agree with you on the reliever front. that was the biggest mistake during the offseason, not getting a high quality reliever. However, I don't like Gagne, he's always injured. I've never been impressed with Otsuka (from watching against the yankees). Cordero or nathan would be nice, but neither would come cheaply.
