i've always liked oakie, whenever i saw him live he put on a great show... he plays all the new shit, and always throws in some classics, and personally, thats what i love to hear, and he does it to perfection... i really don't care what everyone says how he's sold out and is washed up or what he's done in recent history, i go to hear him play live and to enjoy a show he puts on (and honestly, i've yet to be dissapointed, but thats just me)...

so anyways, having said that, whenever he shows up in TO, and plays a venue that could even potentially allow some breathing room (like that time at Hershey Center when he openned up for Chem. Bros, but thats prolly asking for too much), i'll definately go see him...

said TO was his fav place to spin. how about that? the guy is brilliant. Yes trance djs, are all about track selection, and people say that house djs, can create a vibe anywhere. If you really pay attention to oakie...he does have a vibe, he creates a general feeling over the coures of his sets. almost like themes. listen to his older stuff...voyage into trance...listen to 99 EM in Ibiza, and pretty much any of his mix albums. and some of his new galaxy mixes have been pure class. he still has it. he has lost nothing since 99.
the throws in lots of diversity, by playing movie scores, and by plaing rock bands...but he has that oakie feel, that nobody can touch.

ps. how did you hear about this event? theres nothing on his website even for june!
