This was Tiesto's Worst Set in NYC ever...never had me going AT ALL i actually felt bad for the guy when he played Siver Bath cuz there was 0% energy on the dance fl. at this point... fuck how bad his mixing he is or how good his track selections were... lol # 1 thing for a dj to do is programming\arrangement of tracks and structure of the set.. how much each tracks coincide one another and how well the energy flowed thru the night, and after the closing track has been played, it must give u that 'complete' feeling.... IMHO he failed to do all of this... who the fuck cares if his track selection is great? who cant play great tracks?? lmao thats just funny cuz ANY musically inclined TA can play 'great tracks'..it aint about that.. as a professional dj, your supposed to make your set flow, as if its one looong song from beginning to end.. no matter how phat your track selection is, if a track is introduced at the wrong time, it kills everything.. AND on top of that, if your mixing is off, thats like shooting yourself in the same foot twice... it just doesnt work tryin to pull off a gig with ONLY 'good track selection' as your weapon... tiesto never seemed like he was 'into it' friday night.. but i dont give a fuck what was bothering him, if he signed a contract to play in NYC and charge $40 a head, u fucking better be on point... ehh whatever, no more tiesto for me...

TO TIESTO : PLEASE STICK TO PRODUCING!!!

I agree with this 100%. #1 or #100, if you are playing for people and you know that there are people like us out there listening to everything, you need to bring it and show us that you belong up there. Honestly, I have a long way to go before I can play a long set in front of thousands of people, but I can program a set just as good, if not better. Maybe it's cockiness or maybe he just isn't into giving the fans a real experience. Some DJs are (....PVD...), some aren't. Tiesto did not bring it to New York and I could give a rats ass what was going on in his world...he is up there playing...play the way we are expecting. I had littel confidence in the stupid voting poll and the reasons why DJS were ranked where they are. I will no longer spend money on DJ mag to see who is #1 and I will no longer spend my money on DJs that just don't have it. Armin didn't do it for me and neither did Tiesto. Just prooves that PVD is tops and he will stay that way for a long time to come.

I didn't go, and judging from these posts, I'm glad I didn't. Two Sanger sets in one night would make me hurt somebody. And not hearing Andain would make me hurt somebody more.

I can totally understand Tiesto's position. Say you are the #1 DJ and you get to a gig and find out the volumes/tech guys got it all wrong. Then not getting to end the night and people bugging him to sign their crap during the set.

I would like to tell PvD that he can't finish his set at Roxy and that Sanger will take over. I think PvD would actually tear up the booth. Being the main/top/#1/headline DJ means you finish/end the night and play as long as you want, at least that's been my experience going to gigs all these years. That's what the crowd pays to come see. I wonder why anyone fails to see this.

I'm still trying to figure out why Noel Sanger had no problems with the equipment, yet Tiesto couldn't find the highs for shit. He looked like a real asshole that night. I felt sorry for him... horrible opening track, or lack of. And then he turns around and rips it in DC the next night???? I think Pete Mutouso brainwashed him!

DId you ever think tht maybe Tiesto said he was done??? He didn't seem like he could even play another track. He was lazy and tired. Not to mention me and my girlfirend were just watching him and we think he was piss ass drunk (i.e. drink in hand all night...kicking cup across the booth area). He was having fun up there which is fine, but he also forgot to read his crowd. Don't forget this was a MADE events party. Maike Bindra is the promoter...the same guy that promotes PVD shows. He has no problem letting PVD play out his sets and play encores. The word that comes to mind in this situation is class. Who has it and who doesn't

the polls are not just restricted to new york city you know... the rest of the world also has a say in them...

and btw besides the dj mag poll, tiesto won almost every award there is to win in dance music last year including the usa dancestar award and if that doesnt prove that he is the best maybe the fact that he was the first dj selected to do a solo stadium concert infront of 25000 people which was sold out weeks b4. .. tiesto prolly had an off nite @ roxy and if you read the dc reviews u know wat im on about...

but i guess u arnt good enough for new york city if you arnt paul van dyk ...

Ok, being really drunk while DJing is wrong. I didn't know he was that drunk.

And I don't think Maike Bindra treats PvD and Tiesto equally. Most people like PvD over Tiesto. Maybe it's class, maybe bias. I think the Pvd/MADE events are better promoted too. Maybe Tiesto is mad over not being asked to play in Central Park like Pvd? Whatever, I just think Maike Bindra likes PvD more than Tiesto, along with the majority of the people in this forum.

Another question, is Glow/DC a MADE events party?

Of course the polls are world wide and not only in New York. You definately can come into New York and blow up if you are not PVD. That is not the case. I am basing my opinions on the show that I have seen in New York that have been disappointing and PVD has never come up short in my book. I never said that Tiesto is not a good DJ nor did I say that I don't like his music. My main point is that his attitude this night did not make him look any better than he played. As a top DJ, attitude and presentation are just as important as the technical side of the show. PVD is a bit more humble and a bit more classy at his shows, not only in NY, but all over the world. He is world class, Tiesto should take note, or he will find his popolarity slip as time goes on (I honestly hope it doesn't).

I think that could be one reason why Tiesto was better at Glow than Roxy.

Also,if we are going to be talking about class, Ferry Corsten has the most class of all. PvD can't touch him. Ferry is so cool that he came to a TA meetup for crying out loud! Two meetups in fact! Until you get PvD to show up at a TA meetup, I consider Ferry the best.
