2 weeks ago my friend was doing yardwork and got bit on his hand by a black widow. He said he got all dizzy and felt really high. he went to the hospital and they pumped him full of something(anti-venom maybe)? Anyway he was fine a few days later. Although their venom is highly toxic they dont pump enough in you to really kill you.
The brown recluse is another story.
When my dad was visiting me for my graduation he was staying in a hotel and was bitten at night. The next day his calf was swelling up like crazy and he went to the hospital. he had to stay there for like a week and they almost had to amputate his lower leg. Pretty scary shit. Hes okay now.
