listen buddy. in this board we all like trance, so of course we all are going to know the tunes ect. I was backing someone up when someone, said a rude comment. For me, it;'s not just about crowd favorites, it's about flow and style. I can't get into every dj or every style.
This is a big problem now because a lot of djs just play anthems, because they are "crowd favorites." I can't see how someone playing three new pvd tunes in a row except pvd is original??? I know the djs play the tunes for us the punters and I apreciate it more when they have their own style, and don't play a bunch of anthems. No my head is not up my ass thank you very much. I enjoy my music plenty. |
i dunno if this was in response to what i just wrote. im hoping not, cause i hate continuous debate. lemme just say one thing in response to this- edgar's style IS original. edgar playing three pvd songs is not original, nobody is claiming that it is. but think about the situation, and think about the scene. it was a house full of pvd fans.... nu nrg were coming on soon, great talent that pvd has been bringing out to the world. there was a feeling there that night for pvd, nu nrg and vandit fans. i felt it, obviously edgar did too. jesus, maybe he was almost as excited as all of us were to hear the nu nrg set. does it not seem obvious to you that he would play music from the mastermind behind it all. obviously, nu nrg are very proud vandit artists. that means, much respect to pvd, the one who started this thing up.... i think if i was there spinning, i too would have dropped a couple pvd tracks. not to be like him, not to steal his glory, and not to mimick his style. just for pure pvd appreciation. but that's me.....
peace.
flow and style is important.... this was a NU NRG night. and any one who knows them, knows vandit and pvd. hitting the moment is just as important as anything else. vandit music was appropriate, and it wasnt played to the point that it was all we heard. it was three out of what??? a lot more tracks!

Hey guys!
Well, I'm finally back from the Big Apple and at a computer again. It was great to meet so many new TA's, and see some familiar faces. Sorry I missed the dinner, but I had dinner w/my own friends in NY and that didnt get started til later than expected, so I couldnt even come late to the meetup.
Edgar played a great set. This argument over playing PVD tracks b4 he gets there is freaking ridiculous. PVD is obviously playing them in other cities, and Edgar dropped a couple of those when he played here in Toronto- to say that no one but PVD has the right to play those tunes within a certain time frame is retarded. It would not be proper to do that if he were opening for PVD, but this is not the case. Notice how he didn't play any Nu-NRG tracks b4 they went on? That's courtesy- and it need not apply to PVD's arrival 5 days later.
Nu-NRG- the reason for my long drive to NY... and I'm SO glad I found a shop to make me my custom shirt last second! I was gonna cry if I had to go to the show without it. "Il silenzio e rotto da Nu-NRG". It took a while to get them to notice it, but when they did, the look on their faces was priceless! I really enjoyed the set, but wish it was a little more banging. I nearly DIED when the set ended, and they hadn't played "Take Your Air". SOOOOO disappointed!!!! (Had Edgar known, he could've dropped that track if they weren't gonna!) Didn't they know I drove down from Canada JUST to hear that song??? They owe me next time!!! Now all I need is to see Chicane live, and I can die happy.
Victor Dinaire- heard so much about this guy, and finally got to hear him. He did not disappoint!!! Bangin! Stayed til the end and enjoyed every minute of it.
ARC- looks better since my last visit in Dec. No smoking inside NY clubs now too?!?! Kinda cool since I dont smoke, and didnt come home smelling like an ashtray, but I also feel bad for the smokers. At least they'll end up smoking less.
That nutty Irishman causing the ruckus was my bf Graham. He definitely was the life of the party! Thanks to everyone who joined in on his chants with him. "Oi! Oi! Oi fuckin Oi!" lol.
And yeah, that messed up couple in the back room were gross.
So glad the bouncers put a stop to that.
Time for bed- falling asleep at the screen....

ok hun, like everyone is saying, diff peeps like diff dj's..every dj cannot please everyone, since everyone has there own opinion....but please, out of respect, tranceaddict is a form of media for dj's...the likes of armin, ferry, edgar v, victor dinaire, dave dresden etc etc, comes in here and read what "there fans" has to say about them...so like i said, out of respect, have the "bashing" to a minimum .....you dont have to say "he stinks", "he sucks" ....what is wrong with saying, "edgar , in my opinion, had a bad night last night"?
