Aside from the obvious idiocy (which subsequently dropped you off the left end of the bell curve) involved with making a thread in the "sacred" chill out room which everyone summed up quite nicely in preceding posts I'd like to go out on "the" limb and make some extraneous comments about this thread.
The shoe industry.
It exemplifies everything wrong in "Modern" America. So-far-as-I-can-tell, (which, is anecdotally is strengthened by this thread) the "build" quality of a shoe isn't so much important as is it's "cool factor"
which happens to be the sum total of the square of your penis size (if girl use 1) multiplied by the distance the first letter of the brand name in the alphabet, divided by the length of the brandname (which, Nike, thankfully has the advantage in, being a beastly 4 letters long), and then just make it sound big and important, multiplied by ONE MILLION (DOLLARS!). In your case, "tha(rice)devil" giving you the benefit of the doubt it works out to something like 14 million =) coolFactor. Bonus points for making a thread about it.
sorry, my fingers got away from me there. Simply put, the "shoe" industry, if it can be called that is far to engaged in "brand" politics to actually put out anything remotely close to a quality product. I think michael jordan ( I think he's the one.. if not insert some other famous athlete in his place) got paid more for his Nike Commercial(s) then all the "factory workers" for Nike did that year by a considerable margin. I guess they're too worried about selling their shoe to bother making a decent one. While I'm here I'd like to advocate my disgust for pretty much all professional athletic organizations in this country as well, as they have sold themselves down the river in the name of the great dollar. Athlete? Try walking billboard. Consumerism is the name of the game here in the states.. and it makes me sick.
