American Football is just bully's running and jumping on each other.. not my stuff.

We have already discussed this in the pages. The USA is NOT the only country that calls it soccer. There are several others.

on a side note:
Man I saw a show about david backham the other day. Damn that dude is rich. Hes married to a spice girl too lol. I think it was on the E channel here and how hes like Michael Jordan there and all that jazz. They were talking about him wanting to come to america to get more money for ads n stuff but no one knows who he is.

Now I really like rugby...and watched the world cup matches...Yes, It was a great "World Win"...but if anything, it's only similar in size to the Olympic hockey of that time...and hardly had any of the cold war feel of the day, where international sporting events, especially involving the USA v CCCP had big political pull as well. Rugby is played in far fewer nations than soccer (football), just like hockey and our WHOLE country rejoiced and came together when we won in 80. If anything, it is similar "size" sporting victory....however, I highly doubt that the Rugby victory had the unity impact on the country as a whole that this one game did 24 years ago.

Maybe before you go ranting about how much "better and bigger" some event is over another...maybe you should realize not only the scope of the event...but the fact that you were not even born when this took place. Obviously your views of event are extremely askew and well...do not subjectively exist as you were not there.

I will keep my memories...one's I was around to cherish.

/sigh

I am sorry, i guess i shpouldnt have come across so...well...arrogant. I didnt realise the political background to u winning the hockey.

England winning the rugby though was a magnificant achievement in our eyes though.

I Just think that your country could do with a sport where that feeling obviously that u had during ur win in the 80's in ice hockey, u could achieve that again in Football. You have a great chance in 10 years of being extremely competitative in the world of football.

Sorry again

i don't think it has been mentioned yet that the Number 1 sport played in America is Soccer...Real football... so i dont see why you say americans dont watch it or like it that much. sure the fan attendance is below that of American football or NASCAR, but that is largly inpart due to the media.

and yes i was freaking when the USA played so well in the world cup. I was at training camp that week with Paul Barron.

Well in Holland Ajax(amsterdam) and Feyenoord(rotterdam) are the biggest rivals.

In Rotterdam there is a street named after the greek ancient god ajax. For years the streetname sign was set on fire and even the mailman sometimes refuses to bring the mail in that street. The people in that neighberhood made up an unofficial name for that street because the dont want to say that name out loud.

Yeah I really love football but sometimes the riots between supporters are going to far. Riots, death threads and even kills.

But damn that sport is soooo much fun to do. I remember those days when I played it. Training in the pouring rain. your whole body covered in mud. But still makeing slydings, running, jumping to make headers. Running. Shooting on the goal. Although I was really exhausted after each training and game. I always had a nice feeling.

And well watching the sport: Look at vids from the ajax from the year 1971, 1995 (that game against Bayern was soo great. That goal from Kanu. Buitekantje rechts erin as we dutch say!)Also that goal from Bergkamp against argentina WC 1998. A dephtpass that took about 60 meters. And than again buitenkantje rechts erin!)If a team is on a roll in soccer, and the game is exiting. It is simple the best sport in the world!

Beckham is a great player, but you cant compare him with jordan. Jordan is one of the greatest sports players in the world. Beckham isnt and I think he never will be. Jordan was an essential player for the team, Beckham isnt. Beckham never really made the difference, well not at such high level as jordan. If you are thinking of great football players think of: Cruijf, Van Basten, Puskas, Zindane, Pele, Maradonna, Romario. And in the near future ofcourse Rafje and Wesje
Dutch people will know what i am sayin

hehe well jack is always reporting the game through the radio so he has to speak very fast and well this game was so exiting and that goal is one of the best goals ever made. I was screaming like hell also!!

Most people who are watching the dutch football team on tv are turning the tv volume off and the radio report from jack on. Sometimes the TV broadcast has a little delay so you hear one sec earlier that someone scored.

real football. most watched, most played, and most exciting non-stop 45+45 minutes there is.

i have watched american football plenty of times. as a matter of fact, im about to go to a party for the superbowl. american football can be interesting, when its close game. its just they stop every 5 seconds to start another play....

It is good, but i doubt that many people around the world wouldn't even know what Rugby League is, apart from people from UK, Australia, New Zealand, France and a few pacific island nations.

P.S. Football (Soccer) owns u all!!!!
