What if you're wondering who is spinning atm, if it isn't the main event, I've been to many parties where I didn't know any of the DJs spinning but the main event.
Also, on some residence nights you may not have heard of or cared to look at who is playing if its your fav' club and you're just going there for the crowd.
I sometimes find myself not going to a party because of the crowd even if I want to hear the music.
And as far as dresscodes go, I'm for the whole style thing. I've gone to clubs with fairly harsh dress codes and gotten away with jeans, a rocawear shirt and a fitted Oakley hat. It's not about what you're wearing, It's all about how you look in what you're wearing.
