I just want to tell you a story about one of my experiences. I went campaigning with a federal cabinet minister door to door in the poorest part of the city that i have never cared to walk through.
I walked up to this one house with the minister with the thoughts in my head of why the hell do people who live like this get to vote. A very dirty, ill mannered, of aboriginal decent, slob answered the door. My thoughts right away was that he has never been to a poll in his life. Before i knew it, A mini political debate was started. This man humbled me. He was very intelligent and was right with everything he said. His knowldege dwarfed mine. I walked away from that house with a total different view.
Im not sure what the point to this story is but im sure you can find a coorelation.
