Did anyone see the new Conservative add after the National tonight?
It was actually a great add, the reason I say so is because it was funny.
If you haven't seen it, the add went kind of like this.
Starts off with some guy sitting at a desk with stacks of Canadian currency. The guy grabs the bills, crumples them and then throws them into a waste basket. A maid then comes and grabs the waste basket and throws the crumbled up money into a larger garbage. This garbage. Then a blurb flashes..... Sponsorship Scandal ....1/4 billion dollars.... That was the funniest part. The add kept going and got carried away, and lost it's appeal, but I have to admit it was a funny add.
BUT, I'm still not voting Conservative... way to waste your money Harper, what did Belinda pay for that one? LOL
They've been using that ad pretty much since day one of the campaign.... not new.

Great add though

There are many types of conservatives. Fiscal, social, political. You can be a fiscal conservative and still believe in social equality. The difference is usually found in the way programs are created and/or run. Less taxes means that you can donate more money to your favorite charity. Take the Liberal promise (once again) for a universal day care program - accessible to anyone and everyone. I have no problem if the government wants to have a national daycare program, but there should be a means test to determine who needs access to one. A family making 100,000 + a year shouldn't have access to it.
The Progressive Conservatives had many "red tories" (fiscally conservative and socially progressive) who had more in common with the NDP than many of the Liberals did. In fact if you had to label Paul Martin the Finace Minister, you would have to label him a "red tory". The issue I have with the new Conservative Party is the lack of this side of conservatism.

As an unashamed conservative supporter, I have to say I was well impressed with Stephen Harper.
I think that everyone has to remember that when you watch these debates with your already biased perspective, of course you see it through a filter. Still, I must criticize stephen harper for not looking at the camera. He often looked intimidated and could have used a little more assertiveness. All in all, he did come across with a cool sense of conviction I didn't see in the fumbling, mumbling, bumbling and stuttering martin. And that Layton...is it just me or does he not look like a gay porn star? (ok, don't ask how I know what a gay porn star looks like )

I find this statement to be utterly discraseful. And I'm glad you said it because it perfectly characterizes the mindset of many left wingers and liberals. Supposedly you're all about equality, but when it comes right down to it, it's about stifling debate. I find it so typical.

stifling debate on issues that have been pretty much resolved, and are issues of basic equal rights...yes, I think Harper should be stifled.

I rest my case. Selectively stifle people's opinions and ideas. If you happen to spout off anti-zionist propaganda...that's ok because it's in the name of free speach and multi culturalism.
ooooooh, but wait, a Christian believes that the traditional definition of marriage is sacred and important as a cultural institution, why he's a BIGOT! It's a desicration of human rights!! That's the hypocracy I'm referring too.

YOu wouldn't be here without the US, you know.
Defeating the Soviet threat AND inventing the internet.... you have much to thank them for.
Think about it.

True, I think though that your example fits more appropriately in past elections. With Harper at the helm I believe it is more of a black and white issue than it has been in the past.
