Hmm, well I got into EDM in like 2000 with probably the lowest possible way to get into it, lol. See my cousin back then wanted to be a dj and he had quite a couple of trance/techno I forgot,music files on his cpu. I remember listening to a couple and liking them so I went home and typed in Techno into a p2p program and just downloaded whatever. MOST if not ALL were the sorriest possible form of EDM, which was remixes of like video games and tv cartoons. Like Dark raider(whatever its called)tetris mix,pac-man mix,super mario mix, etc...Yeah I know what your thinkin
Man I thought that was cool music back then I listened for quite a while, then put it off. I then met my cousins friend who was into breakbeats and listened to what is known as underground djs. This stuff was way better and this was what I listened to since about late 2002. Then the grand puba came in which was trance. Some of these uderground djs though that I listened to were also like Euro Trance. But late 2002/early 2003 I really actually dont remember who was the first Dj or track I listened to, but I remember clearly typing in Trance and downloaded Dj Dean-Tunnel Trance Force v5 I think(I forgot)and it kicked ass. From there I didn't do much, and didn't know about ferry,avb,tiesto,j00f, or anything at all. The first one though that I remember clearly(besides dj Dean)was AVB, from there I decided to look into "Trance" and heard about Tiesto, so I got some of his stuff and this blew my ass off away. He became my fav dj for quite a while.
So I would say I started the Trance scene in 2003 but fully got more intelligent on it 2004 when I knew of all sorts of stuff and djs. So timiline
rap-->rock/rap-->techno-->breakz-->trance-->nothing after this :P
1999 1999/2000 2000 late 2000/2002 late 2002
I truly believe Trance is the way to go, and people are missing out. I say this cause I have listened to other genres and its nothing compared to Trance. I mean I would say about most of the people who listen to rap do it cause its just cool to listen to it. With Pop music, the girls like the guys in the groups(nuff said)pop just plain out sucks. Country nuff said. Punk, blah sissy skateboarding spikey hair good charlote listening punks. Metal, hmm, theres gotta be appreciation towards this, cause I dont know anybody who can listen to pure electric guitar and somebody whos just screaming stuff. Rock, this genre I appreciate cause I can see how it shows some emotion in there music like trance does. Especially "Staind".
Thats it
