Actually, Sigfreid and Roy take really good care of their tigers. They have one of the few conservancies for white tigers in the world, and they have done a very good job about replenishing the white tiger population. If I'm not mistaken, only a few of their tigers are actually performers - and when you really think about it, those few are the only ones who are trained to do anything for the greater good of so many other cats.
Though, it must be considered that these cats are bred and born into captivity - to release them into the wild now could be very dangerous...though I'm of the influence that if they cannot survive in the wild, then they are meant to die.
In any case, they take really good care of their animals, unlike the notorious circus-leaders of old (do those people really exist?).
