I've been listening to the TRANCE genre, since faithless in 96, but dance music way before.. (2 unlimited, fun factory, c&c music factory, blah blah blah) - god, I listen to them now and wonder what I was thinking.

Hard to say...I've been listening to more commercial electronic music for a long time, but it's only been these last two years that I haven't been listening to anything else but trance, techno and house...before that I was into rap, r&b etc etc...
Techno is still my #1 but I've been hooked on trance since 2000. Why did I start liking trance? Easy... PVD

I love Children by Robert Miles in 1997 but wasn't into trance big-time until july this year, so that'd make me addicted to trance in less than a year.
