Iam,

Well, you're from America, the land of plenty rap. It's actually kind of sad that Rap has to be equated with music, because it's really just rapid-rhymed talking with some background music.

It's a lot less combative. And also in many minds, including myself, rap is a type of electronic music (don't try and change my mind, it's a waste of words). Therefore I consider the thread valid, whether it be trance or not, especially since the description says "Trance or any electronic music." Once again, we are all entitled to our opinion. It's a he said/she said battle, and no one will win. So lets just leave it alone and stop flaming people because of there opinion.

Yes sir! I guess I just enjoy bashing rap. I actually wasn't going to say anything until I saw some outrageous comments made by rap-supporters. On a more logical level, however, I do maintain my position which does not include rap as a bonafide form of EDM music--and it therefore doesn't qualify to be freely discussed on this board.

saul williams has some amazing songs falling well within the boundaries of both hip hop and edm...

ps...i like how the main objectors to the hip hop thread have never posted anything relating to 'trance' anywhere else...

plus i like how one of them hasnt the grasp of english to properly flame us, so he relies on the others response, both of which likely arent from N America|

If you really think that reiterating your antiquated (and previously refuted, I might add) arguments are going to afford you anything more than a pretentious pat on the back to those that piteously share your bias, you are free to believe whatever delusion you like, but don't expect me to fall for this foolishness twice.

There was just far too much crap to go through to find a decent argument by the time the thread got to page twenty-five or so, so I just quit reading it. If I missed any strong points to come after my argumentative retirement from that debate, then I ask now that you bring forth whatever previous arguments you thought strong enough to refute the points brought up by your opposition.

In any case, we're both going around in circles in each other's eyes, and both are under the delusion of our own views. I've given many different examples as to why hip-hop should be included as a form of electronic music, with my main point relying upon the fact that the vast majority of it is sequenced. Unless I've missed something critical, I don't ever recall you giving an arguable reason as to why it should be excluded, aside from a musical dissimilarity.

I would just like to comment that not all people from WI are ignorant, over-opinionated assholes like Hydarnes...

I am ashamed to say I live in the same state as you. WI is a Hip-Hop and House dominated state when it comes to electronic music so if you're so set on bashing it, you might as well move. You know as well as i do that 99% of the 5.5 million people that live her have no idea what trance is let alone EDM so you're both unmatched here on TA and where ever you go.

I wont say you're wrong in saying that Hip-hop isnt EDM but i wont say you're right. it's all a matter of opinion and since the loops and riffs made for hip-hop are made electronically and its classified as a type of breakbeat, i consider it EDM. You can argue your point all you want but you arent going to change the opinions of the people here and since we clearly consider it a sub-genre of EDM, it is allowed to be discussed in the MD.

You all continue to say this is a trance board but if that doesnt matter. It may be called trance addict.com but a lot more that trance is discussed here. If you're so set on cleaning this place up into a trance only board, i can see a large portion of the members not even bothering to post simply because so many people listen to many other kidns of music. if we cant post about hip-hop because its a trance board, we might as well not post about breaks or techno or ambient or house.

Whatever... you've all made the fact that you dislike hip-hop perfectly clear so stop wasting your time trying to turn your opinions into fact because all of us here have our own opinions aswell. I agree with a slight dislike of hip-hop but this thread is about intelligent hip-hop. hip-hop with a meaning and a purpose, not the trash hip-pop you hear on mainstream radio. i dont find enjoyment listening to that because its all about the same 5 subject: cars, money, ice, bitches, drugs..

whatever, im getting ahead of myself. Hydarnes, fissipissi... stop wasting your time and stop wasting ours.

*sigh*
